Interesting review. I have heard of Edelweiss but have never flown with them. I have always enjoyed travelling on the A340 but they are looking a bit dated now and are not particularly fuel efficient compared to modern twin engined planes. Really looking forward to your Tahiti and Bora Bora reviews as I have never been to either of them. I see your subscriber numbers continue to go up. Good for you!

We just flew Edelweiss from Zurich to Tampa, Florida on the 9th of September. Economy class with a 70% capacity of passengers, so there was lots of room to spread-out in Economy. Very friendly staff on board.

There's something special about looking out of an aircraft window and seeing two engines on the wing - even if they are only those hair dryers on the A340-300.

Based in Zurich so travelling with Edelweiss fairly often, I never had a bad flight, service is always fantastic and their flight schedule is excellent to many holiday destinations :)

I was very confused when I started this video as my memory of that airport is very different. But then I read the line about when it opened and it made a lot more sense. I went there from 2006 until 2010, on and off. The airport that served that coast before this one was.... horrible. It was tiny, dirty, and just made you feel tired. My best memory of it though is a flight where our driver was late dropping us off. We're talking within 2 minutes of check in closing. The women checking us in was in the middle of turning us away when one of the luggage movers (they did almost everything with man power there) walked over, grabbed our luggage, and mumbled that "they'll have to let you on now." I think the lady wanted to kill him, witnesses be damned lol

In den letzten 15 Jahren bin ich beinahe jedes Jahr mit Edelweiss in die Ferien geflogen an Orte wie Olbia, Fuerteventura, Teneriffa, Gran Canaria, Funchal, Faro, Tromsø, Larnaca und Zakynthos. Diese Flüge wurden alle mit dem Airbus A320 durchgeführt. Ich war jedes mal sehr zufrieden mit dem Service. Ich wohne in der Schweiz etwa 30 km vom Flughafen Zürich entfernt.

I have loved planes and flying since I was a child. So, I have quite a bit of difficulty relating to those who suffer from a fear of flying. Honestly, for me...the highlight of any trip is the flight itself. That was the case when I was 7 years old...and it's still the case today as a 53 year old...lol. Just give me a window seat that is not over the wing, and I will be a very happy flyer. :)

I flew in that exact airport! I live in Costa Rica so we travel out of libera. I flew on klm’s 787 from Liberia to Amsterdam, and I saw that A340-300.

Try it with “self EMDR”: Swipe your feet alternately up and down and move your closed eyes from right to left at the same time. Think you're not afraid, you're in a completely normal situation, you're secure etc. the whole thing a few minutes. It works perfect with me

Im not afraid of flying but i am studying to become a aircradt mechanic. Everything in an airplane is safe life of fail safe. Safe life means it never breaks if you inspect the part regularly and replace it if necessary. Fail safe means that if it breaks something else will be able to hold the load of the broken part. I hope this gives you less stress when flying.

"The Luxury Travel Expert" who would've imagined that you suffered from fear of flying with ALL of the amazing, beautiful and exotic places you've been!😊 Much love and respect to you for this.😔 I tried flying a long time ago, I was physically ill from the experience, to the point where I had to be assisted on the plane, because I couldn't move. I was holding up the line from boarding. When they did get me on the plane, I couldn't eat anything cause I was then, too nervous and nauseous to eat. Well, I tried one more time without success. Now, I am happily grounded. Ironically, I came upon your site one day. I have been a faithful subscriber ever since! 😁 I have been to many places without ever leaving my home! For this, I am eternally grateful and happy! Thank you!💞💗💕 The flight video today was pleasant but it brought back some of those uncomfortable feelings, for me. I did notice that there was more of an intimate seating on that plane, which would help those who suffer with air travel issues, I'd imagine. Again, thank you for an excellent video. Fear of Flying..... Hmmmm...... I have a fear of flying also, but probably for a different reason than you... Every time I board a long haul international flight with a coach-class ticket in-hand, I fear the discomfort, sometimes misery, that I know I will experience sitting in a too-small seat for 11 or 12 hours... I fear not having access to a lounge in the terminal during layovers. I am usually a bit on edge during long flights over concern about experiencing an embolism or some other medical issue... (of course there are mitigations one can take for these fears!) However, I've never had a fear of the aircraft crashing, and fully buy-in to the statistical data that I'm safer in an airplane than in a car. As always, thanks for your efforts to provide us with quality presentations of your adventures and recommendations!

I really try to fly on any aircraft (747 A340) because I just like it having four engines. 🤔. I know that their time is limited because twin engine aircraft have been built to be much more energy efficient.

I have flown Edelweiss several times on their route Tampa to Zurich, both in Business Class and their so called Economy Max. The later costs $149 extra each way for which one gets two inches more legroom, one small bottle of wine, and has priority to choose between the two meal selections of the same food as economy. Their Business Class is the most uncomfortable I have ever flown on and the food quality is mediocre. However in my experience the flight attendants are always friendly and efficient.

It is a leisure airline and a pretty loved one. Of course bad luck hits all of us once in a while. But...look, it is a constant and solid product. About their Business class...yes, not the best, a downgrade of Swiss business but in about 2 years they will get newer planes and...probably an updated business product which, in my very opinion, is still fully acceptable. Edelweiss will never reach a Quatar Q Suite business, of course, but it never was their goal!!!

Had the pleasure of flying this exact plance from ZRH to YVR in June, and I was impressed. Though the seats were a tad old, they nevertheless offered sufficient comfort and space for the flight. And the crew were fantastic, food was very tasty and enough. Would always fly again with them.

@I Love Aviation Not at all dude. Swiss behaves like a low cost since you have to pay for your food between zurich and Madrid. Edelweiss flies you to greece or even on a shorter flight and always gives you something to eat/drink ...free of charge!!!

Some people eat more, some people eat less ...catering would have been ok for me. About the plane, yes...but newer planes will come soon. The bloody covid story postponed everything. Hope it will not come back like 2020 and that people get rid of masks because it really sucks!!

I recently flew Edelweiss and it was by far the worst experience as a passenger I have ever had. On the outgoing flight after a full day in the air we were served exactly 5 pieces of penne pasta in mayo and 4 pieces of old fruit for dinner! Cabin crew was extremely annoyed when asked for water. We were also not allowed to stand in the galley to wait for the restroom despite crew not doing a service and seatbelt signs being off. Same issues with food, water and movement on the inbound flight. Apparently humanity, decency and a concern for passenger healt, safety and dignity are not features of this vile, subhuman airline.
