John's been a friend for 40 years. I have so much respect for his efforts finding the lesser crap and getting plastic off the beaches in the NW For every item you see he has probably removed another piece of worthless plastic trash from the beach and made sure it made it into a proper trash can. The beaches are special places to visit - Please be like John and respect them and clean up the debris - Pack it out when you can. Great story old friend, see you at the beach in Aug. HOGG ON. mdd

I’m absolutely in awe of your collection! When Kirsti said you most likely had the largest Beachcombing collection ever, I expected a lot of stuff, but I couldn’t even fathom the unbelievable treasure trove you’ve amassed over the years. Its absolutely crazy what washes up on our beaches. So glad to see that you’re putting so much of it to use. Thank you for all your efforts!!

I live in the marshy peninsulas on Maryland’s eastern shore so beachcombing is in my blood. Your video wasn’t what I expected but exactly what I needed. Sure do miss hearing interesting people like you just tell their stories simply without fluff.

Great video, my favorite pastime, I remember boating past Maurel Is. several times looking for the elephant in elephant mt. About the third time the elephant stood up and walked, just different lighting or shadows made it very obvious. Thanks for the memories.

When I was probably 10 I put a message in a bottle while sailing in the San Juan islands. It took a couple years, but eventually I got a letter in the mail from the recipient. I should put a couple more out there.

I met you at your museum when I found it by accident. I loved your stories and your Ronkon motorcycle find. I did buy a glass fish float and I see it everyday sitting in my living room. I live near Lake Michigan and am a bit of a beachcomber myself. It is so relaxing and rewarding. The last time out, I found a diamond ring in where someone had a beach campfire! Keep walking and finding!

Man I’d love to take you to some of the secret spots I know of here on Big Island Hawaii. There’s so much treasure it’s crazy. It needs to be really calm waters for the best spots though. Only happens a few days a year.
