If people could learn to use the glow plugs a couple of times before turning the engine.............

If people would finally realise how useless those cycles are. 1. The glowplugs keep glowing for quite a while after the light goes out. They dont turn off just because the light does. 2. The system is "smart" Letting them "glow" a 2nd time means they get much less current as they are already hot.

He's i think has a problem with the glow plugs. Because i have Bmw x5 35d 2011 and it just started with the first time in -28.5c.

nothing wrong with this car. its just the owner that doesn't know how to handle a cold start for a diesel. he didn't let the cycle to heat the glow plugs run for a few seconds even.

Didn’t they tell the idiots who own diesel BMWs that they have to wait for the “spiral” light to go out? And only then can and should you start the engine.

Push button starters will wait on their own. The driver doesnt have to do anything. If they dont start its mostly because of: Glow system failure, injectors faulty, battery too weak or its colder than the fuel was made for.
