My father used to drive to a city like 30 or 40 miles away from home to save like 2 dollars on a carton of cigarettes... First of all... He sure showed them, right? But really, smoking is a huge waste of money in the first place, and then just getting them closer to home saves gas and wear and tear on your vehicle. I lost my mum earlier this year, and it has by far been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. If someone had showed up on my doorstep asking is they could have her clothes in exchange for clearing out her stuff - stuff that I was and am holding onto because it has memories of her attached to it - well, that just strikes me as a fast way to get yourself slapped (and then some!)

I think she is orthodox Jewish and covers her hair. Wearing wigs is a way that some Jewish women do that. They call it a sheitel. She clearly got the cheap wigs. Yes, there are legitimate services for this, which she could do as a business. They go into the homes, clear everything out and get things ready for the estate sale or even help the elderly downsize who are moving from a house to an apartment or assisted living. They also sell the belongings for additional money. However, people would be reaching out to the business, not the other way around. My guess, that is her reason why she won't do this as a legit business. Also, she doesn't want anything else so it wouldn't be worth it to her.

My mom passed away in 2019 and my gram a yr and a moth later in 2020. If someone just randomly showed up asking to have my mom or grams clothes I probably would have punched them in the face. That was so insanely disrespectful. There is no way I would have allowed some stranger to go through any of my mom or gram's things like this. I actually kept a lot of both of their clothes and have no desire to give them to anyone. I was super close to both of them and they were my best friends. Im still struggling to get through losing them so I would not handle a situation like what that girl did.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your losses!! It can take years for people to start going through their loved ones belongings. Usually people have to do it in phases because it's way too hard to do it all at once. There is no time limit on grieving and it's normal to never get over it completely or for it to take years. Things do get easier with time, but we learn to live around the loss, not get over it.
