I worked for a chiropractor. He was a small little disgusting pig. A young staff member (I think she was 19) always acted weird around him...like jealous if he talked to other women in the office or patients. One day it was just me, her, and him in the office. They were in another room but I could see them. She was acting pissed off. When he left I asked her what was going on. She said nothing. Later she admitted to me he would fondle her when he gave her adjustments (as employees we got free adjustments). Mind you this prick was a married man taking advantage of a young girl and she thought they had “something special”. I hated that man (even before I knew he was a perv).

The chiropractor didn't know, didn't ask, didn't have any medical history, cracked his back so hard that it basically internally bursted organs, blood started spurting out everywhere and he died. The brother of a schoolmate studied chiropractic. He offered to give me a neck adjustment. I said sure - I was 17 at the time - and then he bragged about how one wrong move and a patient’s neck could be broken, but he was sure he’d never make a mistake like that. I “suddenly remembered” that I should’ve been home hours before and practically ran. That’s the closest I’ve gotten; and after what I’ve learned about chiropractic since then, that’s as close as I’ll ever get.

Also, my chiropractor straight up warned me against any practitioner that's on social media or uses the Y-strap. Without taking any xrays, he adjusted my neck and back...an hour later i was paralized from my chest down. My uncle immediately took me to the hospital where it was discovered i had a broken neck, a herniated disk, and had either a compressed or severed spinal cord! I don't think he actually caused any of the problems, but he certainly made them worse. I had emergency surgery to have the disk removed, a spinal fusion and decompression surgery. Ill never let anyone "adjust" anything ever again! (My spinal cord was thankfully just being compressed).

I was temporarily paralysed by an MD who practiced chiro too, no broken neck though. Read the history of Chiropractic. Blows my mind anyone is stupid enough to fall for it. It's never been proven effective to 'manipulate' the spine. "D. D. Palmer founded chiropractic in the 1890s,[22] after saying he received it from "the other world";[23] Palmer maintained that the tenets of chiropractic were passed along to him by a doctor who had died 50 years previously.[24] "

@themudpit621 yes exactly!! Cracking your bones does nothing for you except puts you at risk for injury. It’s all for show. I crack my knuckles everyday, are my fingers more healthy than other peoples fingers? Bruh of course not. Chiro school teaches that diseases can be cured by cracking certain bones, like Diabetes and Anxiety. Absolutely 0 science or medicine or evidence. The popularity of chiropractors makes me so sad, especially because there are real, scientifically proven methods for alleviating pain such as Physical Therapy (they go to actual university and have a PhD in Physical Therapy, actual miracle workers who have such an intense understanding of physiology and how diff muscles and bones and nerves attach and which exercises can help) and Pain Management Doctors (MDs/DOs who went to medical school). One time after the gym, I was having hip pain for DAYS so bad I could barely walk, and I found a physical therapist video on KZbin with 1 massage and after I did it the pain went away in seconds.

I recommend massage from someplace connected with legit physical therapy. Massage helps your muscles. Tight muscles are what pulls your bones out of alignment in the first place.
@themudpit621 Жыл бұрын
Your body doesn't need 'alignment'. The noises you hear from a chiro are the same noises you sometimes hear your body make in yoga, and a yoga teacher will tell you, it's compression of gases. Like when you push your palms together and make a fart noise. It's no indication that your palms needed aligning. The strengthening you do in yoga and mindfulness of good posture is more than enough.

My dad used to go to a chiropractor. It actually really helped him a lot, but he also did his research and found an extremely reputable one by who truly know what he was doing. They are supposed to give you breathing instructions instead of just coming in for the crack, whether it’s your back or neck. Also, they need to know your full medical history, including things like pins in your back or anything like that. If they don’t ask for that information, do not go!!
@themudpit621 Жыл бұрын
If you push your palms together your hands make a loud fart noise. doesn't mean you had gas in your hands. The 'crack' is gas compression and release. It is no sign of any real healing. Great trick though. Did you know the history of Chiropractic medicine? Wiki does. "D. D. Palmer founded chiropractic in the 1890s, after saying he received it from "the other world";[23] Palmer maintained that the tenets of chiropractic were passed along to him by a doctor who had died 50 years previously." I went to a chiropractor years ago. Never again. It was a small clinic with only a few people working there. She insisted to crack my neck even though my pain was do to a back injury. She always kept the door wide open and people could see what's happening as they were walking by. The weirdest and most uncomfortable thing about the whole thing was the fact she pulled my pants down until my whole buttocks were showing. She wasn't working on my buttocks. I kept pulling them up and she kept pulling them down. WTF? I finally confronted her about it. I only saw her a couple months. Like I said, never again. In the end I ended up with more back pain and a neck pain I never had before. They went our of business a few years later. Thank goodness. Just be careful what kind of chiropractor you see. In fact, research has shown that people report more pain after undergoing chiro adjustments than any benefits. My brother-in-law is a licensed chiropractor- he has to go to multiple doctor conventions and take licensing tests multiple times a year to make sure he’s up to date on medical knowledge, however when it comes to adjusting, it is a very nuanced and not fully understood practice and shouldn’t be used as a stand alone “cure” but rather as symptomatic treatment. Even my brother-in-law refuses to adjust me or any other possible clients that have epilepsy/seizure disorders as well as those that have ASD, as adjusting someone with seizures can cause said seizures, and those with ASD don’t relax the same way those that are neurotypical can when the chiropractor tells you to “Relax” (it’s very important that you’re able to fully relax when they say to, otherwise the adjustment won’t properly work, is what my brother-in-law says). The human body is too complex for a one size fits all treatment style such as adjustments (the cracking/ moving body parts they’re doing to their clients) and my sister has been injured multiple times at chiropractor conventions for her to even recommend anyone other than her husband/my brother-in-law as she says probably 1 out of 4 chiropractors will mess you up forever, which is far too many for how many are in the practice. *Never get your child or pet adjusted as they can’t follow the chiropractor’s instructions during the adjustment and they can’t tell you if they’re in pain if the adjustment doesn’t work, and if you don’t know all of your medical history as well as know that your mri/x-rays say you’re ok for a chiropractic adjustment by your primary care physician DO NOT GO, IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY!*

It’s no joke! Honestly, it’s best to go to a chiropractor who does gentle adjustments (like on the elderly and on infants) where they are putting like a fingertips pressure on you to do adjustments (and take thorough X-rays/do diagnostic work before ever laying hands on you). Also, be extremely careful when you’re getting your hair washed at salons-the statistics around broken neck injuries every year in salons is actually horrifying.

I went to a licensed chiropractor after my oldest son was born due to back issues. He was a big baby that messed me up while I was pregnant and more so after I had him because he was in a carrier plus the weight of a diaper bag… You see where this is going. Anyway, the back adjustment was fine, but he cracked my neck as well. At first it felt great, but as soon as I walked out of the building, I got an instant migraine that wouldn’t go away until the next morning. I was a migraine sufferer, but this was weird as I usually woke up with them and they didn’t come on suddenly like that. One night, I was watching the news and saw Sharon Stone had been taken to the ER by her husband for a migraine after a trip to the chiropractor. Turns out she had an aneurysm in her brain that was ready to rupture. They said the same thing had happened to a woman in NJ (the next state over from me) who also went to a chiropractor, however hers did rupture and she died. After that, I never went to one of those quacks again, licensed or otherwise. It just seemed too coincidental. It’s been over 23 years and I won’t let anyone mess with my bones.

A doctor (MD) who had also trained in chiro cracked my back then said, 'roll over'. I couldn't. I was paralysed. For about five minutes I couldn't move AT ALL, while he yelled at me for acting silly. The paralysis wore off, and pale and trembling I went home. I passed out in my bed (it was 2pm) and slept for 18 hours waking up for the occasional vomit. No, it didn't help. There is NOTHING healing about those 'crack' noises. It's air being compressed. If you compress your palms you can make a fart noise. Doesn't mean you had any gas build up on your palms that needed releasing. Understand? Placebos work around thirty to fifty percent of the time. PS. A real physiotherapist and specialist doctor had my back pain fixed pretty quick and permenantly with exercises. I had deteriorating vertebrae and discs that needed ultrasound and very specific movements to prevent the bones fusing. 'Cracking' could have smashed my fragile vertebrae. Don't risk it.

Years later & all kinds of problems with my neck & back. I see a physical therapist & she said don’t ever go to a chiropractor. I agree. I hated it. Also congrats Layze on 100k.

I've been seeing chiropractors since around junior year of high school, maybe sophomore. Plural because either they moved, insurance changed, etc. Reason for that is because I grew up wrong: c section baby, doctor removed my hip from the socket, put it back in wrong, I grew up crooked. I have currently been seeing my most recent chiropractor for 4 years now. Anyways, through all my years getting adjustments, I have never seen nor experienced any of the stuff in those videos 😬

Damn, mine broke blood vessels and, allegedly, broke a guy's wrist. (PS: it's because you need it and your chiropractor is another "species" of a physiotherapist, not a guy with no degree like our chiropractors. Ours are kinda in the spa/massage/ relaxation ish field yk or just straight up CRIMINALS )
@junrobin93352 ай бұрын
Same I have been going to one since my physical therapist decided they couldn't help with the arthritis cause my joints kept getting inflamed after their sessions to the point I'd miss school and all that. Seeing an osteopath, guy does adjustments for me. But he checks my range of motion before and after sessions, explains what he'll do or what he'd like to do. Makes sure I am okay with it. And then the first half hour of my hour session is usually just massaging and warming my muscles up for the two small adjustment exercises. Can literally feel fluid between my joints finally moving and stopping to be a hindrance when I move. It's disgusting actually. xD But he's never done any of that weird shit in the vids. I always feel like it's a spa day going there cause I always leave relaxed and more mobile than when I go in. He also makes it a point to not crack my neck cause he doesn't find that a safe adjustment to do on clients. But damn does he have way better alternatives.

Chiropractors can be super sketchy. I did go for a few months to a good one though. They took my medical history, gave me a physical exam and got multiple X rays before I saw the chiropractor. At my appointments I would be put on a TENS unit then stretched under nurse supervision who also checked in to make sure I was physically able to be adjusted. After I was adjusted I saw the other doctor on site who gave me injections around my spine. I got X rays every 6 weeks to check progress. The process really helped. I was having terrible migraines 5-6 times a week. Now they’re fairly rare. All that being said, please please please do your research. A bad chiropractor can kill you

I went to a chiropractor due to an automovile crash i had younger for my lower back, doctors said i needed surgery but he kinda fixed me up, i could walk and bend on my own without surgery, BUT you do need to do research because there are a ton of pple that think with just a course they can be chiropractor and that is NOT the way, you need someone who is very proffesional

Also layze I grabbed this from google The coccyx is the last bone at the bottom (base) of your spine. It's a small, curved bone that's made of between three and five vertebrae fused together. Most people know the coccyx as the tailbone

The labrums in my shoulders tore from a sports injury when i was younger and i had to get pins put in to hold them back together because they don't heal and my ortho specialist specifically told me not to have my shoulders adjusted by anyone ever or it could disrupt the pins! Well I had to stop going to chiropractors because the first thing they always did after i told them about the pins was to tell me how beneficial to the healing process it would be to adjust them and even sometimes trying to just do it after that!

I have a chronic back condition and I have been going the chiropractor for years otherwise I couldn’t walk. I have seen many different ones and I have only seen one that was questionable. A good chiropractor will do a through medical evaluation and look at X-rays and/or MRI. My chiropractor does not do any twisting or popping, etc. He uses an activator that is like a little gun thing. He also does dry needling. Used in the correct way it is very helpful. I also have bad discs in my neck so I never get my neck popped.

I am seeing alot of comments that say "Dont go" or something similar and l don't think these people understand that Chiropractors help with injuries and soreness not going can lead to possible years of pain or using way more money for other treatments. Also you guys do know you are allowed to request a female or male practitioner (may not happen in certain areas)

A good chiropractor is an amazing thing, but is also a unicorn. 😂 But, people don't understand how debilitating pain is. Constant pain breaks your brain, causes depression, anxiety, suicidal and intrusive thoughts, and honestly takes every joy you have. I live with chronic illness and am. Recent amputee with degenerative disorders and my spine is F-ed up. It's worse since my amputation last year . It really really breaks you worse than any childhood trauma and they don't give pain meds. They don't give methadone, unless you do it as a drug addict, going daily. When they can prescribe it. You have to suffer because big pharma caused a opiate problem. I didn't cause that problem. I just don't want to hurt. So needless to say...we will see how long I continue

My dad went to a chiropractor, he was Canadian and only knew English in my not so much English-speaking country, so I had to go to translate for my dad. Man was really nice, and professional. He didn’t just crack my father’s back with his hands, he actually had the correct tools for it 😂 I guess there are expectations in every subject.

Chiropractors can be very helpful, in my case it helped for some time with my chronic pain. But you have to be real careful about who you choose, and most you see on social media are questionnable (especially when they use torture looking stuff). For those who are thinking of going here's what they should be doing : Explaining to you where and why they're going to move something. Pretty much walk you through how the appointment is supposed to go. When they have to go near more intimate place they'll ALWAYS ask for consent, they can work around it if you're uncomfortable. Also, first appointment is always much muuuch softer because they need to get used to how your body reacts ect ect. I've tried a few chiropractors, and lot of times, the first appointment is to check if your body need adjustments or not, i've had the case where one said i wouldn't benefit from it (in his case he had the wrong specialty for me). All this to say : if they don't check on you before doing the cracking, i'd keep that in mind and check for other red flags. Little fact that surprised me a little, it doesn't have to crack. It depends on people, sometimes it cracks, sometimes it doesn't, but the crack sound doesn't mean anything really. Unfortunately for me, i don't crack a lot (i say unfortunately cuz mentally the crack sounds gives me a little pain relief). All this to say, if you're uncomfy with the cracking sound, i think for some adjustments they can try to work around that too. If you're worried about anything, you should have a talk with them, if they laugh at you or don't try to reasure you with facts, i'd advice you to leave. That goes for anything related to your health.

@@yautjamorph_ Technically even if it was 'cap', if it helps people it's all that matters really. It's hard to find good chriopractors though, which is why i made the comment in the first place. Hopefully that means you've never been in so much pain that you've had to try other methods than just family medicine docs.
