Super simple and a great design. Betting this will work in all kinds of environments. Thanks for taking the time to share the details.

Thanks for the video! I sure like the setup. It gives me ideas on what to do in the future for me too. Right now I pretty much have 1 water point for my back pasture. This coming year I’m going to make more water points, but I’m going to lay the pipe on the ground. Then, in the future I’ll bury it. I haven’t decided specific where I want my water points. I might have to do a KZbin video on it because others give helpful comments on ideas on what to do.

Thanks for the how-to video george. It's always nice, to see different tips and tricks. I think it's a lot better to help each other and grow the movement instead of trying to be in competition and hide all the valuable information.

Nice design!! Simple, elegant using commonly available materials. Two things I'd add. One, a handle for your lid. and two another layer of foam under the crushed rock layer you are going to add around the waterer. That will add significantly to the frost resistance in the ground around the vertical culvert. Sort of like the frost protected shallow foundations I imagine you've poured. Love it! Got me thinking about some future improvements. Thanks, George!
@georgeheller2281Ай бұрын
@davidjohnston5436 one of my daughters called out the handle right away, I honestly didn't even think about it. I was thinking about laying foam down before the rock as well, I think I may do that. Thank you for watching, and the input.

On all my portable water systems I use brass water hose quick connect fittings, this may make it easier for you to connect the line down in the hole. also watching these videos makes me thankful we don't have winters that cold in Oklahoma

Well done. Would it be good to put a wood ring in the bottom so the foam can't slide down more? This is definitely something I would like to do when i set up another winter waterer. How much did all the parts to put one together?
@georgeheller2281Ай бұрын
I may just put a few screws into the foam through the culvert, it is in there pretty tight. I will have to put a cost analysis together for it. I hope we get some snow this winter, this drought is getting out of hand
@french-canadianfarmer5049Ай бұрын

Is the water “public” pressurized? Or is the water coming from your own well? If it’s from a well, is the well pump pushing all that water the full length on demand or do you have a holding tank that has a pressure tank installed?
@georgeheller2281Ай бұрын
@@oxford821 private well, on demand via pressure switch. We have a pressure tank to maintain pressure.
