All the sound you hear is them making with their two guitars. This is as raw as it gets. 2 guys with their voices, their guitars and 2 microphones to record it. It‘s like you were sitting in the room with them.

Extreme is a hard rock band from Boston, formed in the 80's... Their major hit singles were 2 ballads - 'More than words'... and 'Hole hearted'... and that was how their career was defined, even though they were known for their guitar-heavy sound. Typical Extreme songs - 'Hip today'... 'Rest in peace'... 'Kid Ego' ... 'Get the funk out'... Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass) and Paul Geary (drums) formed Extreme in 1985 and debuted in 1989... it was their 1990 (2nd) album 'Pornograffitti' ... that broke big commercially and sold 2x platinum in the US w/ 'More than words'... 3rd album 'III sides to every story' in 1992 sold gold (half million copies) in the US... Drummer Paul Geary left the band soon after. 4th album 'Waiting for the punchline'... failed commercially in 1995 and Extreme broke up. Vocalist Gary Cherone joined Van Halen in 1997 but the 1 album 'Van Halen III' in 1998 only sold gold in the US and Cherone was out of the band by 2000. Extreme reunited in 2007 and has recorded 2 more albums - 'Saudades de Rock' in 2008... and 'Six' in 2023 (w/ drummer Kevin Figueiredo)

This is unplugged. This is an acoustic performance, but it’s in the studio. I think you want to hear him in an acoustic live performance. A cappella is when there are absolutely no instruments

Great ballad!! I was in high school when this song came out. I also had my second or third boyfriend, and we danced to this. I'm glad you're starting to like some love music. Believe me, there are some love songs that can melt your heart.

I highly recommend their fast songs too. "Play With Me" is just loads of fun, and really shows what Nuno can do. Since Eddie Van Halen's passing, Nuno's probably the best guitar player on the planet right now. They released a few new songs last year and they haven't really missed a beat.

Nuno bettencourt is one of the greatest guitarists out there; electric or acoustic. would love to see you react to "Get the Funk out" as that is a really good showcase of his electic guitar skills and he has a super sick solo that kills on that one. I'd also bet that if you listened to "Hole hearted" by them you'd have another love song that you unexpectedly liked. Best wishes to you and all in comments.

I think you would like a lot of the older love songs. The problem is that you grew up in an era where there are no great love songs. This is because all of modern pop music is autotuned and artist aren't able to use their natural voice to draw you into the song and make you feel the emotions of the song. If you like this song you should check out "Heaven" and "Everything I do" by Bryan Adams. You should also check out "Don't take the girl" by Tim McGraw. You would hate a large portion of my music collection. I have been collecting music for almost 50 years. I would guess about 45% of all of that are love songs. I grew up in a time when guys were not encouraged to express emotions, so songs were frequently the only way I could express those feelings.

"Get the Funk Out" is a fun funky/rock tune. "Hole Hearted" is great upbeat tune, a favorite. "Play With Me" is a great guitar tune. Newer stuff "Rise" has a killer solo. "#Rebel" is really good new stuff too on modern shit lol. Many others.

Gotta say this song reminds of me of Christmas back in 90 or 91 when this song came out. All my family, cousins, aunties, uncles were celebrating Christmas Eve at my grandparents house back in New Mexico. First it was mass at 6 pm then back to grandparents house to eat tamales and posole and then Santa would come whether it was my grampo Ignacio or my uncle Joe dressed up in the raggedy old Santa suit then we would open gifts, all 16 of us grandchildren. My cousin Chris sang this song while his brother Anthony played it on guitar. Everyone was floored. It was an unforgettable night I will cherish in my heart forever. Then life went on and we all became adults and went our separate ways and started our own families. My cousin Chris has been missing since June 13 of this year, last seen in Fort Worth where he was living. I don't think he is alive. Sorry for the rant, this song just gets to me.
