@@jonathanoxlade4252 not everyone can do this, and you need to be a really good pilot to do this kind of acrobatics, also Acro pilots need to have at least 2 reserve parachutes :)

Acro paragliding and racing cross country paragliding are definitely extreme sports

and sure, normal paragliding is pretty safe now. Alot of knowledge with weather etc, many different incredibly well designed and made gliders on the market, everything depends on the pilot, either way, safer than driving a car :) (of course except the extreme part being more dangerous)

AAhhh! I'm just learning paragliding, and so watching this is so scary!!! These guys are nuts! Hang gliding is really awesome too, actually more fun, and you can do true upside down flips in a hang glider, plus the wing will never collapse, it is rigid, also you are flying like "superman" or "a bird" instead of just sitting and controlling the wing. But it is a lot more commitment and trouble though. Watch Redbull X-Alps 2015 Documentary for some more awesome paragliding action. :D

+Mac Dubh they're trying to prove a point, just like Travis Pastrana, or any other extreme athlete does daily. p.s. base harness helps to get out of a situation just before the situation happens, not saying I'd fly at a friend in infinite on my acro wing personally or would want a friend flying in on me doing infinite, but you guys just don't know the level Marvin and Tim got to/ are on. Use the force :P

Sooo. I know it all depends on your skill and dedication but: 1. How much time would one take to become skillful enough to have part of this control (i.e. be able to stop on trees and then take of) and 2. are these paragliders any different from the usual ones?

It takes a lots of effort and skills to become a acro pilot in paragliding. 1. After you finish your beginners course you can start to fly EN-B gliders 2. Attend more than one SIV course and practice stalls in safe areas 3. Start developing manoeuvres with your EN-B glider 4. When you feel safe in most common manoeuvres in your EN-B glider you can consider buying more dynamic gliders It will take you years and you'll have to dedicate yourself to acrobatics. For easier processing it helps to partner with others in acrobatics to learn from and practice with. Last but not least, play safe 😃
