I love Prepper Princess she got me started on my minimalist journey. We started in an 80 foot long 3 bed two bath mobile home, downsized to a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath fifth wheel. In three months time we will be able to afford a raw land payment. Education is free when people care enough to teach others. Thank you both 💖

Hi Lindsay. I just found your channel today and I've been binge watching it. I've been watching Prepper Princess for years, she is great. I also watch Under the Median. Pennies to Dollars and Frugal Money Saver are also good channels to watch for frugality. I am very impressed with your money saving measures. You will have your house downpayment soon! And you are correct, every little bit helps!

I have 2 laundry frugal tips for you. Buy some dryer balls. They might cost more than sheets but you won't need to replace dryer sheets regularly. You can hang drying clothes, on coat hangers, from the wire shelves in your laundry, above the washer and dryer.

Tips: - Try doing a 10 15 minutes in dryer, then hang your clothes to dry. - 1/4 cup vinegar & 1/8 cup of baking soda will clean your towels & make them absorbent again. Plus will not need dryer sheets. Dry the towels for 20 - 30 minutes then hang dry. - get a metal floor fan to help circulate the air. Cost $40 - 50. Many apartments do not come with ceiling fans. - also floor fan could help in drying the laundry. - leave the washer door open between loads. It eliminates musty smell. - lastly- GREAT JOB ! Really great ideas &!love Prepper Princess too.

75’f ac with ceiling fans is the temperature I tend to keep it when it’s summer. And during winter I tend to keep it about 60’f (sometimes up to 65’f for the heater). Saves a lot on my bill. Make simple meals at home & coffee at home. Staying home…Not going out much, especially window shopping 🛒 (because of impulse shopping). Living in a more affordable area/city/state saves me the most money.

We’re so lucky when it comes to nail trims for our boxer. We have a paver patio, and he loves to run on it when he gets the zommies. So he keeps his nails filed down on his own. 🙌 We also have limited treats to very rarely. Sometimes we give him a hard boiled egg as a treat.

If you have a free kitchen outlet hang a small wall lamp on tje wall in the kitchen or a small lamp on the counter. Even if you leave it on a lot it is only 1 bulb and gives nice subdued light

I don't own a home either i actually live in a shed house that I'm doing rent to own....its far from complete so living in it and work on it as we get extra money to do the work. We lived on a poultry farm till three years ago my husband managed it...the owner sold the farm and the house we lived in was part of it so there we were in our 60s and homeless We got the shed an moved in my youngest son and daughter in laws backyard

I love the Mrs. Meyers sprays, I buy the concentrate and mix that with water and refill the spray bottles. I also make that my use everywhere spray. I’ve found it works just as well in the bathrooms for everyday cleaning. However we have hard water as well, and last year our water softener messed up and the black pearls in the bottom stained our toilets. 🙄 So now I have to occasionally use a harsh cleaner to get hard water off. And I’ve given up on trying to get the gray ring off the toilets.
@lindsaysimplified
@lindsaysimplified 4 ай бұрын
We can only use the Clorox bleach foam in our toilets or nothing comes off. It’s infuriating.

I find hangdrying works best in winter when the furnace runs, I set rack over the forced air vent, as the furnace blows, it drys clothes and keeps air from getting as dry

Vet care. You can get dog vaccines at your local farm supply store and do them your self. Look for a local rabies clinic for low cost rabies vaccine.

Just saw you posted! Yay!😁 ❤👍 yes that’s normal for a degree or so before the thermostat kicks in the ac or the heat. Hope and Larry from under the meridian have a YT vid on using a fan to reduce the AC bill. Some things my late husband and I did/do is LED light bulbs - you can take them with you if you hang onto the bulbs that are in the apartment if they’re not LEDs. Put them back before you move. That way you hang onto your investment in them. I found using my Ninja Instapot Foodi thing instead of my stove top or oven dropped the electric bill. It’s a pressure cooker, air fryer, steamer and crockpot in one. I still use my oven and stove but I use the Ninja more. I so agree about not washing things too often. They last longer. I live in a dry climate so I get away with hanging things to dry indoors after a few minutes dryer time to blow off the wrinkles.

@@lindsaysimplified I've been using dryer balls for a couple years. It cuts my drying time down by about 10 minutes per load. So that helps with the electric bill. We do about 3 loads per week.

I hang all my underwear on a spinning shoe rack, set either near a window or near a heat or AC vent. I also have 2 drying racks and have not used a dryer in about 20 years. Of course, I live alone so that makes it easier but your clothes last longer when you air dry them.

When buying washer/dryer/fridge imo are not things to buy used. We went cheap w all 3 and had huge problems w each in about 1 year after seller warranty expired. Including fridge compressor dying. I use utube to see if i can fix it usually can..if not know exactly what to tell a trade under home warranty. W yearly raise set out my budget categories again w everything we've added that had a free trial or less cost for 1st year. Nowadays we are mostly past paycheck to paycheck adapting Dave R method for yrs. Instead of taking cash from bank i roll it down into sub savings for each goal w zero based budget. Not buying, downsizing and buying 6 months in advance are very important for us as well as throwing out damaged items, clothes/shoes no longer usable vs holding onto stuff jic ...well jic never came. :-)

You talked about the lights in your kitchen. Here's a suggestion, take out some of the light bulbs. My dining room has a ceiling fan with four bulbs. I took out two. Still enough light in the dining room. My bathroom fixture has 4 bulbs. I took out 2. The kitchen has 4 fluorescent tubes. I have to leave in the dead bulbs for it to work, but I have 1 dead bulb & 3 working ones. I wish when we had another dead bulb here to replace one of them. We have nightlights in the bathrooms, so we don't have to turn on the lights when we need a trip to the bathroom at night. Another thing that saves money is using liquid dishwasher detergent instead of the pods. Store brands are okay, but I prefer buying Cascade when it's on sale. You gave me a couple new ideas, so thanks for that.

I have a little lamp that takes a regular led lightbulb on my kitchen counter because I don’t like my kitchen dark either but don’t want to use ALL the overhead kitchen lights. It’s less than $3 per month if I estimate the highest possible usage and our power company rate of $0.16/kWh and that’s if left it on 24 hours a day (I don’t) so it’s a price I’m willing to pay to enjoy my kitchen. Just an idea if it’s worth it to you also.

I looove Mint. I’ve had them since 2016 or 2017 I think, and it’s the only bill in my life that hasn’t increased, which is saying a lot considering the past few years. I briefly switched to Visible (Verizon’s version of Mint) when we moved to a rural area bc I thought the coverage would be better, and it was wretched. So back to Mint and I’m never switching again.

Hi! Great video! I do hear many u-tubers saying to switch to mint mobile . When I looked into it, the $15 unlimited data per mo, was just for the first 3 months . Then after that, the price went up . From what I gathered , the price at that point, was comparable to our AT&T plan . I’m pretty sure, we need unlimited data , because , as a homemaker / homeschool mom, we listen to a lot of U-tube for educational purposes & I have sons who have their own UT channel . This uses a lot of data . I guess my question is, is mint mobile still a good deal if we need unlimited data & after the 3 mo period ?
