Extreme Game Boy Repair | Restore | Enhance 😃

My cousin gave me her old broken Game Boy to see if I could repair it. These consoles are so important to video game history and are becoming more valuable and rare so I really wanted to try fix it and even make it look better than the day it was born.
I show you everything I did but if you follow this, please read and follow all safety warning. At the very least, I hope you find this entertaining. I’m honored you stopped by my channel to see what I’m working on.

Before I start this comment...I MEAN NO HATE I LOVE 3D Sage!! Anyway at the beginning of the restoration, the ribbon cable had already been bent...if I’m not mistaken that means the Gameboy has been opened before this. I don’t know if it was 3D Sage or somebody else.

Very observant! It's because I always get several takes. Sometimes over 10 times but always at least 2 take so this take was one of the later takes after I reattached the cable.

I believe that yellowing of the plastics is actually from oxidation from o2, not from UV/sun degradation (otherwise retrobright with peroxide and UV wouldnt work either IMHO)

Hi, I’ have this model GB original since I’m in high school. That was long time ago. I’ almost forgot I had one when cleaning my old desk. When I watched your video, I want the upgrade it same as your but I can’t find any services in Malaysia. My one got control issues, some rusty parts, no light, & so on. Still working.

Why don't you use a glass screen protector? I got one for my Gameboy Advance and it looks so much better, and it doesn't scratch that easily!

The snes is notorious for yellowing. Maybe after watching this, you would feel comfortable trying to restore it yourself?

@@3DSage yeah, I've got one and I would like to make it white again, do I need to use those UV lights or did you use them just to make it restore faster? (Sorry for my bad english XD)

@@minerados273 Yes you can. The sun puts off uv light so you can put the plastic out in the sun but it has to be a bright day, no clouds, and you have to keep repositioning the item as the sun moves. 8-Bit Guy tried a method of using heat on the stove without any UV light but I was too scared to try that. But his results were good.
