I can vouch for the temperatures being that high in New Hampshire as I was section hiking Mount Moosilake, Wolf mountain and kinsman mountain this weekend . Water was flowing well there and I didn't have any trouble finding plenty in that area. But the temperatures were definitely cooking! ~Monarch

I have a question. Is it possible to put out trail cameras around those water caches and try to catch who is destroying them? Just wondering. I have never hlked the AT but it is a dream of mine and I watch a lot of people who are youtubers make the journey every year. I LOVE those videos so much. Thanks for all the great information and all the work that goes into that. I've never been on the AT, but who knows, maybe someday. I need a hip replacement, so there's that. I would love to rock scramble and climb those boulder fields. I've always loved a challenge. @@Ramdinohikes I've needed a new hip for 10 yrs since my 40s. I need $12,000 in dental work done before the surgeon will replace it. I don't have that laying around and no dental insurance, which that doesn't cover hardly anything anyway. But yes, someday I would love to get out there and at least do a section of the trail.

If you’re a solo female, steer clear of this guy. Jay and I used him for a ride not knowing and he insisted we see his garage setup for hikers before bringing us to our hotel. He says he located his own spring and that’s why he stabs all the caches so you have to use the water he found.

Dognappers sometimes operate from the trailheads in a small truck with a utility body, no company name with maybe the words ""Pest Control." Criminals may take the hiker for a ride as well.

The ATC is all about staying dry and avoiding soggy paperwork!😄I'm sure it has something to do with LNT. Some hikers leave trash behind that blows around or causes critters.

Ramdino, Call the guy out. In the heat people need all the extra help on trail they can get. Why would anyone destroy the water and water jugs anyway? Sounds like this guy needs some mental help and chased off. Maybe if his name is put out there Hikers can shun his place and he can go broke. I might be a little more extreme in my thoughts. But here on the CDT there are places where there just isn't water, So a water carry might be 5 to 6 liters and still hoping you find a refill. Sorry if I am over stepping my thoughts here. It just makes me mad that some clown thinks he sets the rules and what help anyone can get or have.
