For the sink, I use baking soda and some citrus essential oils! Literally just put baking soda all over the sink and drop some essential oil in, let it sit like 10 minutes, scrub and shine! Works really well, smells fantastic, and won't burn your precious eyeballs!
@aveskaa47364 жыл бұрын
Same, if baking soda alone won't do, top it up with some vinegar!
@angela.braniff4 жыл бұрын
I have both so I’ll try that today!
@sengasala4 жыл бұрын
Also would use 1/1 ratio of white vinegar and water mixed with a splash of dish soap and if you want few drops of essential oil also. Vinegar takes care of lime scale and also disinfects the surfaces.

I live in Germany and we have a non toxical cleaner for the sink and stuff. It's nothing fancy, my grandmother had it already. It's called "Scheuermilch", I would translate it to scrubbing milk, scouring milk/cleaner. It's mildly abrasive, but not scratching anything at all! Like I said, it's perfect for the sink. I am sure you can get something similar in the USA.

Oh my word, the thing about not registering how dirty things are until you start cleaning them is REAL. I was working on decluttering and cleaning my kitchen a week or 2 ago... oh my ever loving word, it took hours longer than I accounted for because I just didn't realize how DIRTY everything was.

First off, so impressed you’ve tackled your whole house with eight kiddos. I struggle to do projects with just two. I squeeze in a drawer here, a cupboard there... would love to dedicate a whole day or week! I find Melissa Maker’s advice over on Clean My Space has drastically reduced my cleaning time. She says to do 3 waves: 1) clear with a basket etc - just remove anything that doesn’t belong, put away etc 2) clean left to right, top to bottom, 3) floors. That way, I’m not going over an area twice, dirt falls down and doesn’t dirty a clean surface because lower areas are done last. That’s really helped me. Lastly, I love that you’re a fellow red head! 💕 And I think you have the most perfect teeth I’ve ever seen! 😘
@cathrinagroiss6044 жыл бұрын
And speaking of ''Clean my space'', she got me using baking soda and dish soap for cleaning the kitchen sink, and it works incredibly well if you just let it sit there while you are doing something else.

Wow so impressed! I find I often feel completely outclassed by the disparity between a child's ability to create mess and my ability to clean/tidy. Disasters it takes little one's seconds to make can sometimes take up to half an hour to clean up (stuff spilled or ground into my horrible rental carpet springs to mind). It does help you to appreciate how much more effort it takes to create than destroy, highlighting how important positivity and perseverance are to even a very humble daily life

Kitchen goals! One suggestion...add a lazy susan to your spice cabinet. Love the pantry most! Could you link the can holder rack on the bottom of the closet? Its helps to have a set amount of clear containers for the kids to see what there is and limit their choices. If there is no container for it, it doesn't get opened. Norwex has an great paste for cleaning stainless steel. Have you ever considered moving to an all fridge? We did a couple of years ago and it is so much easier to keep clean and organized with big family.

If youre doing a deep clean like this instead of using a small dishcloth and killing your back use a mop it gets to the back of shelves AND covers a large area very quickly. Works on majority of shelves and spaces. Have yet to use it on my fridge but have defs used it in all sorts of cupboards. Also saves hands from cleaner and knees as well! Friend of mine has an open loose more industrial kitchen so metal shelves concrete everything walls etc so she gets a pressure cleaner likw youd use on a driveway and uses it on most things and just wheels out her steel shelves outside and uses it on them too ive never liked and likely will never like modern or industrial design but gods am i jealous when she can spray out her house like its a garage including her bathroom and not have to worry about walls or wood etc.

Ugh! started to write a comment & pressed some stupid button that erased it all!!! Anyway, as I was trying to say: First, Your kitchen was really in such good shape to begin with even if there were less than 10 of you!!! Second, it seems like you have a tendency toward naturally being organized. Even the amount of stuff you had in your medicine cabinet & junk drawer I wouldn't consider out of control for a family half the size of yours! Seriously! Third, the amount of physical labor involved in this endeavor that you accomplished in 2 days or less deserved not only a manicure but a full body massage for sure! All of your hard work, done while mommying some semblance of your eight child brood the whole time, was truly inspiring & motivational! Your are grace under pressure. Your Kitchen looks fabulous! I just watched the empty house tour of your new place & am so happy for your to have the kitchen you have wanted & to see how you will organize & decorate it! As well as the rest of your NEW HOME!! YaY!! Also, all of this decluttering had to have been helpful when you were packing to make this move - so worth it! Love to you & the fam - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Sink Cleaner= White Vinegar and Dawn dishsoap. It looks like your sink is stainless steel. Put about 1/4 cup of regular blue Dawn in a spray bottle, then fill the rest with White Vinegar. Shake to mix. Spray down the sink and let stand for at least 10 minutes. Then scrub with a sponge and rinse. Works amazingly well and involves almost NO elbow grease!
