Taking out the weird angles in the kitchen changed EVERYTHING! Made the kitchen look like a new built rather then a 90's throw back! Way to take a risk!

Thanks! We are SO happy with it! We don't mind things looking outdated, but I agree that this is definitely more functional!

I really love that you moved the fridge - so worth it! We’re in the middle of remodeling our home and I know that feeling of overwhelmed like “what did we just do?!” but it gets better as you go. 😅

Wow taking that wall down was such a smart move for the fridge! Also, my first thought was that it’s such a peaceful color palette for the kitchen. It’s so you Natalie! ✨

Even unfinished this looks wonderful! The biggest improvement is now having the fridge straight on instead of angled. So much more modern ! I've never liked angled rooms ...and we bought a house that is ALL angled, lol! I've got those corner cabinets but am fine actually with them because they take up the whole space and give me more storage.

Natalie, you read my mind! Taking down that angle wall is the defining decision for your kitchen. The transformation of just that one thing makes all the difference in the world. And your cabinet choices are just perfect. I love the color and design so far and can’t wait to see the finishing touches. Love it so much!

So excited for you!! When my parents were building their forever home, they planned for what life could potentially look like 30-40 years down the road and intentionally made their kitchen extra wide encase either one of them needed a wheel chair or to accommodate their aging parents if needed. It’s been such a blessing in disguise! Also, that silverware drawer is so cool!!!

I thought taking out the ‘pantry’ was a fabulous call and the result remarkable, UNTIL you called an ‘audible’! The result of shifting the fridge was a complete game changer! I loved the color palette when you first shared it but seeing it come together is awesome. I need a ‘drop zone’ for my hubby’s stuff! I’m looking forward to seeing all the finishing touches. Congratulations, well done!

Oh Natalie it absolutely beautiful, I’m so pleased you took the wall down and straightened out the fridge it looks so much better. So much like me a kid with a new toy we had our kitchen done about 7 years ago and all lower cabinets are drawers even the corner has a thing that slides out and round. Each cabinet has two big cabinet draws and when you open the top draws there are secret top draws that you pull out in them and I still absolutely love them. We did draws as I can’t bend down anymore so draws are perfect for me so I really laughed when you played with your secret draws you are truly blessed to have a nice new kitchen at your age and with your family so young this is the first brand new kitchen I’ve had in 47 years of marriage. I so love watching as you share your beautiful family and creating your forever home you and Weston seam as though you are just perfect together and make a good team. I’ve always believed couples who pray together stay together xxxxx

I believe taking out that strange angled wall was THE best decision of the entire project. As I was watching I kept thinking, what is with that weird wall with the fridge and why don't they just take that out!! Sure enough as I continued to watch, that is what happened. Alleluia!!!! Looks wonderful and how open everything is now. I love watching remodels and transformations. Thank you for taking us along on this great project!! Looking forward to see the finished project!!

Amazing! I love the distance from the island to the stove it works perfectly you won't be bumpin butts we always had that issue in my house with the sink directly in front of the stove.
@erinneikirk21202 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't know if others commented about this or not ... But since you're going with the rustic vibe, maybe wrapping the pole in the island with a brownish brick would add another rustic element? But then I would whitewash over it so it's not all brown. Just an idea. Your kitchen looks amazing! Thanks for sharing your journey.

Pretty cabinets. I think you should put one more cabinet on the left of garbage cabinet to square off the kitchen, to be in line with island. But anyway very nice project.

This is how the kitchen was meant to be ❤️ Its so warm and cozy, and so thoughtfully made. Great last minute choice to take down the wall too! Super excited to see all the finishing touches. I think the display cabinet with the shiplap back is gorgeous! Such a great alternative to open shelving. I’m curious, is the smaller square cabinet in the island, by the support wall functional?
@NatalieBennett2 жыл бұрын
It is! I designed it as Weston’s “drop zone” with a drawer for keys and wallet (and wire nuts and electrical tape in his pockets) and a spot for his large lunch caddy! I didn’t show it in the video because it got cut for time. But I’ll show it in a different video coming up!

We are currently remodeling our kitchen so I love watching all your videos. You are a couple months ahead of us so it is soooo helpful to see all your organizing tips etc. I had a question tho, what color are your cabinets? We have Krafmaid cabinets in an off white color called canvas...they look just like yours, shaker style. We have black granite and a dark gray island with butcher block counter. I see so many white kitchen cabinets and my husband refused to have white again as our early 90's house had them ( yucky vinyl , not wood) and we were tired of them. We are original owners so I understood. It is so nice to see someone now WITHOUT white. I started having second thoughts while watching all the you tube videos, but it was too late by then.... Thanks for the videos. You are new to me but I have subscribed and will keeping up with you, after I watch many of your previous videos.

Everything looks stunning Natalie! It radiates a labor of love 🤗 My Dad is a contractor so he has helped reno parts of my house. Thankfully my husband is handy and knows electrical, and I'm a perfectionist with woodwork and painting. My Dad just wants to take care of his kids and won't take a single penny for his help. Tackling things together has been a blessing on my part as well! It's so satisfying to see the fruits of your labor and makes you proud of your own work. I find I appreciate the finished product so much more and saved a ton of money- that's a win win!!!

Thanks for the inspiration. We wanted to fix our at least 30 year old kitchen from te previous owners up but turned out that is not possible with all the underlying problems so suddenly we need a new kitchen a.s.a.p. And we have zero ability doing it ourselves. So stress all over. Demo is the first part, then new floors so no kitchen for about a week or so hahaha. Can't wait to see the surprises this old kitchen has hidden. Great idea to reuse part in the garage. Didn't think about that. I think I'll try doing that as well. The new kitchen looks amazing!
