You can get a tool called "marksman" that squirts paint down the holes of shelve brackets etc, extremely useful, then you just drill where the paint blob is...alternatively sharpies are better than byro/pencil!

Absolutely LOVE seeing the kitchen completed - it’s stunning. ‘Tit bits’ are the best thing in the world so seeing all the photos and candles etc has really pulled it all together! First of all, it's way too early for Xmas songs!! Not even had Halloween yet! Anyway superb video as always. I absolutely LOVE the brickslip, it looks amazing. My favourite bit of course has to be the RED BIKE 😂😂5:57 and then Nicky you completely cracked up 🤣🤣. I'm honoured to be featured on your "rogue's gallery" 80s wall 11:08. All four pics look really good in that position. (And yes the 80s were the best!) Haha they don't have "Harri" bowls in France. Maybe I should have got "Harry"?! And finally I love the Wainscott but I think the Bottom and Board will suit the cottagy feel of your home better. Can't wait for the next vid. xx

I absolutely love your kitchen. The brick really sets it off and your lighting and decorations are really on key. I like wainscoting myself, but this is only my humble opinion. Looking forward to seeing #2 and #3 bedrooms come together. I have no doubt they will be beautiful as you have done such an amazing job on the other areas in your house. When you put the shelf up you should have just put in one fixing. Then you can use that as a pivot point to set the other side to level. Hopefully that'll make it easier in the future.

I've just finished panelling my staircase with board and batten. The creaky wooden floorboards are driving me crazy. Do you know how to rectify this problem, please? Can't wait for your next video. Wow, your kitchen looks stunning, I hope you are pleased with how everything turned out. Those pelmets, towel rail, and finishing touches, make all the difference. Have you thought about brick slipping the chimney sides or inner to make it look more realistic?

Thank you! We’re so chuffed with it too. Yessss the finishing touches are everything!!! we hadn’t really thought about it as we’ve already got quartz on both the inner and sides of the chimney, although that probably would have looked great!

Can I ask what you guys are using to fill the large holes in the plaster? Looks like you were using a pinky ready made plaster, but then you were using a cream coloured product around the plugs sockets. Any advice? I have some large holes to fill, just like these.

Wainscote is fancier, batten and board is probably easier to do. So just pick if you want fancy or simple. Also YES it is too early for Christmas songs, you're not supposed to even start thinking about them until Advent starts (4 weeks before Christmas Day)

Having used brick slips in our kitchen the one regret we have is on one wall we did not wrap the slips round one corner and the was a mistake. I think you should have wrapped the chimney both on the outside to the side and the internal reveals as well. Small point as the kitchen looks great. Also cannot agree more about DIY Kitchens, we saved a huge amount using them and am delighted with the quality as well. You should highlight the savings on cabinets yiu get against the big high street chains.

Love it all - only change I would make is having gold fittings as that has always been my preference (think its a generation thing). Cant believe how much you have done - as well as the garden. Wainscotting is the american term for tongue -and-groove (isnt it???)

Great work you two!! Can I ask how you two deal with the lead paints and asbestos tiles etc often found in old homes? I'm looking to buy a fixer upper and have noticed a lot of older people just covered up these issues (boomer mentality i know), but I'm not one to leave them there once I'm aware of them.

Hey bud, luckily we had an asbestos report before moving into our home and there was only asbestos concern in the loft water tank (which is no problem), we didn’t have any old tiles on the kitchen floor to worry about. Best of luck with your fixer upper, keep us in the loop! 🙌🏻🤗

That partly left chimney breast is bit out of place. I think better you incorp fully into design or remove it entirely. I would have put a kitchen hob and extractor into the brest/flue system.
