For my 300 wsm for hunting. I use a 2lbs trigger. Rifle Basic trigger does the trick. I'm only out to 1200 yards. I purchased a 300 Rum barrel and I'm just starting the reload process for it. Happy shooting great video, keep the gong ringing.

Brilliant review. I have shot at some distance with my 300 UM but not out past 2000 yards. I do like the caliber and I for one have no issues with the recoil so many complain about. Have a very good muzzle break is important although deafening I must say. But allows for faster follow up shots if need be. The right hand loads is also a must. Sometimes discovering the right load is mind boggling. But worth it in the end. Scope , mount and rest with the right trigger is also a must. My trigger is right at 2 pounds. I would like to go a bit lighter but would need to once again replace my trigger. Thank you for your time and upload.

Now that is one beautiful customized Remington you do not see many of those in left hand operation of course I'm pretty lucky ambidextrous so that means I can shoot right-handed or left-handed. PS that also means two that I can shoot handguns with either hand without any problems.

Really glad this video popped up in my feed. I'm currently using a 7 mm Magnum... But my dream rifle is the 300 ultra magnum. I have done my homework and my research... And when it comes to ballistics and ballistic coefficient the rifle really can't be beat by anything else. I would like to know what scope you have mounted on yours. I was planning to put a Leupold Mark 4 long range on mine when I get it. I really like the reticle on the model that I picked out but I can't tell you what it is right now without running to grab my notebook. I also want the Remington 700 model that's what I have in my 7 mm Magnum... It is the BDL model. Walnut stock and also iron sights. What is your opinion on wood vs. synthetic for a long-range shooter? It's a lot of work to route and then bead a wood stock for long range shooting.

I put my 300 RUM in MDT HS3 CHASSIS & gave it a Timney trigger set at 2lb as I got it for open tops shooting . still got the custom deluxe stock .got the Leupold 6.5 - 20 x 50 with the varmint hunter reticle it has a very fine crosshair first scope I looked at covered a large bush at 400 yards .

@Michael Neely my go to rifle is the 30.06 .i never got a 300 win mag as I don't like the rimmed case , so when the 300 RUM came available at the age of 60 I got one.. i have a muzzle brake on it & is softer to shoot than the 30.06 BSA witch never booted . I have 22s, 22mag, 223 , 243 ,270 ,30.30 , 30.06 & the king 300 RUM .I have fired over 1,000 rounds out of the 30.06 700 = KILLS still a good shooter .I have seen .223 rugers shoot out in a day helicopter shooting wallabies ..ehan you are shooting wild pig, red deer , elk ,bull Tahr ,YOU NEVER FELL THE SHOT .

How much elevation do you need for your scope base in order to dial that much elevation in your scope? It looks like you are running a Vortex PST 6-24x50. I have the same scope and it only has 70 moa total travel.

What weight bullet is most accurate for the 300 rum? I'm shooting 180grn with a winchester mod. 70, not happy with the group at even 200 yards.
@manskull101-Clint5 жыл бұрын
Hi brian I'm not sure I could pick a specific bullet weight for max,accuracy But for my purposes I go with heavy for caliber bullets . I'm currently using a Hornady eld match grade bullet. 225 gr. I get pretty consistent sub 1 moa groups. I think finding the right bullet /powder/ charge weight ,and bullet seating depth all play equal roles ,in accuracy, also primer choice and consistently seating them, case sizing and neck tention.are very important , when you think you have that all figured out consistency consistency consistency ... Half the fun is the pursuit of perfection! Happy shooting

HEY Alex We shoot near Redding .ca. And the rifle is a Remington 700 Long-range model.. We've added a muzzlebrake a Vortex Viper hst vmr 6×24×50.scope, With a 30 min rail. And a Jewell trigger, I'm only into it around $1.600 pretty great performance for that $$$, I think that's good bang for the buck. Thanks for watching and the comment

nice!..thats amazing. I'd luv to go target shooting with u guys, I'm slowly building my new 300rum, hopefully, will be all done soon, what grain bullet would you say is ideal, 215gr?
@JohnDoe-ud2cc5 жыл бұрын
Mine shoots really well with a 215gr at over 3200fps with a 26 inch barrel. I want to go heavier but not sure if I can with a 1/10. Heavier would be better BC, less powder to burn and less fps. So it should increase barrel life. Because my current load with 103gr of powder at 3200 is going to eat my barrel fast.
@manskull101-Clint5 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-ud2cc we like the Hornady 225 gr. Eld match bullet . And a 1 in 10 twist rate is fine. The new 230 and 250 gr. Bullets do require a faster twist. 🤐

I’m 13 I want to order a Remington 700 in this caliber if I do I want to put a fat bastard muzzle brake on it by APA and mercury recoil compensatores to put in the stock. I am 13 6 foot 140 pounds and currently handle a 35 whelen with a muzzle brake no problem and I’m not recoil sensitive could I handle it ?
@michaelreed13804 жыл бұрын
The fat bastard is an amazing break. It tamed a 300wm shooting hot 210s and 215s quite well. Asking someone if you can handle a rifle is asking a rather subjective question. Everyone's comfort level is different. More importantly, why do you need to shoot such a big round/rifle? Is it for a reason or are you just trying to man up for something you don't need to be doing? I'm not knocking on you at all, but you are stepping up to big guns and big rifles that takes skill to shoot. I dont want you wasting your time, money and energy. All though shooting big guns is a blast, but it really depends on your purpose. Have fun and be safe young man. Master your craft first, don't try and go for it all at once. You can always adapt and grow into bigger things.

@danelobe25244 жыл бұрын
Problem is the barrels don't last past 2,000 rounds. I'll stick with the .300WM. No one's going to kill game past 1000 yards and have respect for animals. Hitting steel plates I can hit a plate at 2000 yards too. You just can't do it every shot so it kind of stupid. 80% luck....
