@@LetTheWritersWrite plug it into the effects loop and it comes alive. I was about to sell mine and then tried that...sound is night and day different.

@Jak Marvella I've tried my MZ through the front panel of my Randall RD20H head and then through the effects loop. The difference is night and day. If you get another chance to try it, hook it up through the effects loop. Sounds so much better. I can't even use it through the front. Not sure why this makes a difference but my ears like it much more through the back.

Dude seriously how the fuck, pardon my french did u make that metal zone sound so warm & decently good?! The forbidden pedal of pedals.
@MusicBlissMalaysiaTV6 жыл бұрын
In all seriousness, took me some time to get it right... When micing up the cabs, I made sure the tone was as close to being in the room. Then I sat in front of the cab, turned on the Metal zone and just dialed it in till I got what I wanted.
@pikkuarska6 жыл бұрын
Also a thing to point out: some distortions sound quite piercing straight from the cab, but somehow sound quite nice when mic'd. I really hate how 5150 sounds in room, but it records very, very well.

I have an advice for you, if you want warm MT-2. Try these settings: Low noon High 10 o'clock Mids (mid boost at -10 o'clock) Mid Freq at around 10-11. Farther mid frequency goes with lowered mid boost, the warmer tone you will get

Great video! It's the first Metal Zone MT-2 vs (fill in the blank) I've seen that was engaging enough to watch until the end. I've seen quite a few thru the years too....

My opnion?...A good player and enough "know how" you can make anything sound at least decent....As far as the MetalZone specifically. I think the hatred comes in part from those 2 (or should I say 4?) middle knobs. The EQ section is very "jumpy" and sensitive,.....and they jammed it all into those tiny "concentric" knob inside a knob idea. Figgiting around with those on a dark stage has been "the final straw" for more than a few players. That and a built in Noise Gate would be a big improvement. Pedal's based on the MetalZone like the MXR FullBore Metal have this figured out with 6 normalknobs and a noise gate. Even Behringer's ULTRA METAL squeezed in 6 individual knobs......I wonder how much more loved the MetalZone would be with regular knobs?
@sashabagdasarow4973 жыл бұрын
I am struck at how similar they sound! Also, MT-2 doesn't work very well in front, do you know that? It's best to be used in fx loop Metal Muff sounds way looser though. And seems to have less distortion.

Metal zone works great in the front as a boost.
@sashabagdasarow4972 жыл бұрын
@@micahwatz1148 actually it's a bit like overdrive if you dial down the distortion, since with distortion at 0 it still distorts high input

There are actually two finishes if you check online, one with and one without the Made in NYC I guess it just comes down to when the pedal was made. Shouldn't be a fake considering the reputation of Guitar Center...

If you ask me, MT-2 gives you too much possibilities, so you get lost and, indeed, screw up your tone) But at the same time, it gives you the ability to dial in a big variety of sounds

Can anybody advise me please, I just bought a metal muff and I can't get a good sound out of it, it sounds very flat. I only us a peavey vypyr 15 with it so assumed it was because the amp is rubbish, but the boss me 50 I normally use sounds great through it. I am wondering if I should sell the muff or keep it until I have a better amp.
@Deckardkane4204 жыл бұрын
Keep the muff, set amp eq's to the following: clean/gain and presence all the way/ hi EQ @2 pm ish/ mid @ 10-11 am ish, low all the way up, now set pedal to the following: DIST all the way/TREB @12PM/ MID 10 to 11am ish/ BASS all the way
@Deckardkane4204 жыл бұрын
That's the setting I used to play Korn and Slipknot and I don't touch it or tweak it
@Deckardkane4204 жыл бұрын
If it still sounds flat but most likely you just got a cheap amp cuz I use the settings to a solid-state and it sounds amazing but I also use 100 watt amp with 2 12s, get an amp with 40watts or more and with a presence knob for the clean channel
