This is a very clear demonstration of the superiority of wheeled legs (whegs) over the legs used by many developers. The addition of arms, cameras, tools, etc to this fast and stable base finishes the robot for the tasks required.
@zorqis10 күн бұрын
For moving on terrain, yes. Looks like mostly 2 legs is enough, which helps to reduce the optimal number of limbs a _generic_ purpose robot (platform) would need. Looks like 4 is enough generic, making it more acceptable to humans than e.g. 6-8 legs insect-like creatures.
@danfg72159 күн бұрын
EXACTLY, I've been saying this for years, legs + wheels make so much more sense for mobility and energy efficiency, I'm so glad they figured it out and made it. Now watch all the copycats realize the obvious advantage and add wheels to everything.

Man is inventive, and so wheels are easy to defeat. First: Besides high power weapons blowing these things up. Nets, cabling, and other products would easily disable the wheels and legs on these things. Various chemicals can be used to melt the wheels as well as gum up or glue necessary components for them to operate. Simple luring and attacking with spraying of paint and chemicals to adhere to cameras and sensors. In closed quarters environments these things will find it hard to defend from such attacks. All you have to know is that they are coming and to prepare. Razor wire works on these things just as well as humans.
