I suspect there is some autotune, just not abused all to tell like the last three tracks they dropped. But I agree it sounds drastically better than anything so far.

@@lorenmorgan1931 pitch correction and auto tune are completely different tools. 99.9% of all producers use pitch correction to some degree, even on the most talented singers to tighten up their vocals. Auto tune is primarily used for people who can’t sing or carry a tune.

@@TheMrFett I have been an engineer for a long long time. They are the same really. Yes I use the tools (primarily Melodyne or if simple, ReaTune in Reaper), even on guitars. Autotune can be used multiple ways, automatic, manual, or note priority based (blocking out specific notes). I use it in manual mode only, and lift/lower to the root temperament, even on string instruments if something feels off. But using "Auto"tune would be automatic, and most engineers that know what they are doing will do it manually, and can make it sound natural. In the case of Rise, it does not sound natural at all, and cannot understand how that one made it to master like it was.

There is a difference. There is a reason why t pain was the best at the auto tune effect and it’s because he is a great singer. Better than Gary that’s for sure.

Very well said. The "turned up to 11" songs have been great, but this one fills out the beloved parts of the band not already covered by them. A yearning melodic emotion that hearkens back to "Stop the World", "Song for Love", "Hole Hearted". And another wonderful solo that again sounds so *real* - the sound of hands and pick on the strings.

This track is pure classic Extreme gold though, and blows the other 3 singles they dropped away. 2:45 Gary's range is ridiculously impressive! Very Queen sounding, and the guitar solo is quite Brian May derivative. Monster musicians and amazing songwriters. I've seen these guys live twice. Once in Germany in '89 or' 90 and they killed it. Saw them again at the M3 festival in Maryland around 20 years later and they were still killing it. These guys just keep getting better and better.

The first word that came to mind as I listened to this song was, "timeless". This song could've been a #1 hit at any point from the late 60's forward. It's lush, without a ton of production. It's upbeat without being cheesy. It lifts you up, but is also relaxing. It just feels good to listen to. It is...timeless.

I've liked all of Extreme 's new singles but this is fantastic. Those harmonies take you away to another time & place, drifting on summer skies. Gary channels his inner Freddie in places, even throws in a couple of his moves as a nod no doubt, leaving Nuno to rip the perfect solo (with his own nods to Bri). Absolutely stunning ❤️

The more I hear this song the more I like it, and now I know I love it. Great chorus that I’ve been singing to myself lately. Today I realized Gary’s part before the solo reminded me of Freddie Mercury, and it brought tears to my eye to go along with the big smile on my face. Nuno’s solo is a work a art, and the video takes me back to high school, coincidently also when I first heard Extreme. Bought my tickets to one of their shows last night. Stoked.

This song is such a beacon of light! Really love the part in the middle when Gary goes to the higher register. Amazing! Such a nice contrast compared to the previous three songs, and can't wait for the full release of the album!!! 🎉❤

I'm crying...for real ! I think this song is beautiful in every way. I feel it in my heart like a warmth ray of light, like a trip to different places. I know Nuno is unique but the solo reminds me of Queen. Btw, that solo took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting it because this is such a sweet and melodic song, but then that solo takes it to another dimension, energetically speaking. Nuno takes us to heaven and then we land again in the sweetness of the vocal harmonies, which are perfect! Superb production, this is genius! Gary's voice sounds incredible! I'm a singer and let me tell you, he blew my mind with those high belted notes ! Please Gary, take care of your voice during the tour. The texture, the colors, the sounds and the plot of the video is so 80's and I love It!!! I LOVE EXTREME AND I LOVE THE SONG, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Gary... wow, at the 2:46 mark - simply AMAZING vocal part there! I've had this song on repeat for months now. I saw them last month in Orlando and wow, brilliant live!! Meeting them backstage after was an honor. I've been a fan since I discovered Play With Me on the Bill and Ted soundtrack so many years ago. Vocals and lyrics are just as amazing now as they were then!

I really like how Extreme have channeled their influences on all the singles that they’ve released from “Six.” “Rise” has the EVH touches on the solo and “Banshee” has a groove that recalls classic Aerosmith. And now Gary’s vocals on the bridge (and his movements) speak to me of Freddie Mercury while Nuno’s solo has touches of Brian May. I don’t mean this as a criticism. I think it is amazing how they can incorporate all these elements of their forbears without losing their own identity as Extreme. They are bringing back the rock GROUP to popular music.

30 year fan finally saw them from the 2nd row last month in NJ, they do not disappoint. Gary Cherones’ energy is infectious, Pats smile and crowd interaction made me feel young again, K Figg hits the drums harder and cleaner than anyone I’ve ever heard, and what can you say about the GOAT in my opinion that hasn’t already been said. You just have to experience Nuno Bettencourt in person. He’ll leave you shaking your head and wanting to rush home and pick up a guitar. Thanks for the memories fellas they’ll last the rest of my life.
