Would you be able to do a video on what to pack to go to another country? Like to charge your phone and how to handle currency and using credit cards ect? I feel like I start googling it all and it's a wee bit overwhelming. So impressed with how easy and practical you make packing and travel seem. You have been THE make up guru to me for years and now you're becoming THE travel guru as well! Thank you for sharing! 🖤

Love your videos! I always check in a medium bag. I also have a “bento bag” which fits a huge amount of items and I use it as my personal item as it’s made to fit under the front seat. The problem is for some reason I’m always at the furthest gate when I leave or arrive, and I’m almost 70! The bag is too heavy, so I take an overhead rolling carry on and fill with shoes and purses (you could put filming equipment) and put my bento bag through and roll it to the gate.

If you are going to travel internationally again, email yourself a copy of your important docs and put them in a separate file in your inbox. If your passport/important docs and phone and laptop get stolen you can still access them (and also have someone at home with an electronic copy as well). And for the steamer you do need a converter for the voltage as I was looking into this specific steamer but our voltage is 240w.
@CookieDr007
@CookieDr007 2 жыл бұрын
It also needs to be dual voltage which this isn't, you can maybe get away with a converter on low wattage stuff but it's a risk and anything that heats up like that requires a ton of power ie blow dryers, flat irons etc and so this will totally fry Euro fuses 🤷‍♀️ had a friend blow out half a hotel using her chi flat iron with just a converter 🤦‍♀️

I just spent 2 months in Central America (including several weeks in Guatemala)! Although I was backpacking, what I learned from my experience was to pack less than I thought I needed. Initially I packed so many different outfits and really only ended up wearing the same 3-5 things every day. You can get all of your basic necessities there (toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, etc). It’s so easy to overpack and then be stuck with all of the stuff you brought that you don’t use. When I go back in October, I’m going to prioritize organizing and packing less. (: hopefully that helps a little bit!

My dear, during my travelling years, I learned the lesson the hard way. 🙏🏻God forbid it🙏🏻 but if the company looses your suitcase or another passenger grabs it first by mistake on the conveyor belt, the more neutral the higher probability. A lovely flight attendant gave me the best advice after meeting each other a few times: "You can be as gothic as you want but a black suitcase is a NO. Paint the grooves with acrylics in different colours". Aesthetically unpleasant? Yes🤦🏻‍♀️ The easiest to recognize and to look for when you call to ask if the luggage has finally arrived? YES💁🏻‍♀️ What a lovely relaxing video. Pure peace of mind. Thank you. 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

@@chidenisee Awee 😍. Once, we splitted in Frankfurt and 14 days later we found each other again in the middle of the airport while we had spended these two weeks in the antipodes🥹😍. Of course, the crew stopped a few seconds waiting for us to greet & run😅 and, ta-daaah!! SHE GIFTED ME WITH THE CUTEST STICKER EVER! It was a japanese gothic lolita hamster wich, needless to say, I never put in my suitcase. It' s on my vanity 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤 Nostalgic moment, sorry. After more than 12 years travelling alone I have endless lovely memories and anecdotes with "The Cloud Crew" 😉

I travel with a flat bag goes around my waist, it is ment for running - so it is comfortable and doesn't cause you to sweat. I don't have to worry about losing my passport, tickets, spare cash; or even just absent mindedly putting them in a random pocket. I want to find a sustainable backpack for everday use including shopping. Ironically I may be the only person who doesn't carry around electronics.

Former flight attendant here, and I have one recommendation for you to take the weight off your neck/shoulders. Grab yourself a "rolling briefcase" style bag. It's the one you see all flight attendants with. It's perfect to fit what you need, but you can roll it.

Don't leave any prescription medications in your checked luggage! Not sure if you actually did but you do run the risk of having your bags delayed/lost. Basically you don't want to put anything in your checked that you can't easily replace, ie passport, cdc card

TWO TIPS from someone who used to travel a lot for work...and also have firsthand knowledge of horror stories with checking bags. KEEP YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS IN YOUR CARRY ON. Jewelry, high end makeup, etc. I have had friends have heirloom jewelry stolen from their suitcases after checking their bags. Sure, the items were insured but it wll never replace the sentimental value. Another thing I learned from a friend who uses nothing but high end and luxury makeup amd beauty products...if you're able to remove the product from the branded component, put it in a generic magnetic palette or generic bottle/jar so no one knows what you have. She's had makeup stolen from her checked luggage AND her hotel rooms. I was AMAZED that people would steal used makeup. But...there it is.

Nurse here… I’ve seen my share of patients that come into my ER begging for emergency prescriptions, because they packed their meds into their checked luggage and that got lost or delayed… especially right now during very crazy busy traveling and airport staff shortages Please carry all your prescription meds into the cabin. Airlines will even allow you to bring them in a separate small bag (like the one you packed them in)… in addition to the personal item and carry-on, if need be.

Whenever my husband & I travel (by plane) we usually each do a medium sized suitcase that we check-in & then divide the carry-on between us. We both have meds & medical devices (he is diabetic & uses a cpap, I bring mobility aids) & I just don't trust the airlines with that. So, I usually have a small duffel with toiletries & meds & he has a small wheeled carry-on suitcase for all the electronics including laptop, tablet, phones, etc plus his cpap. Needing to travel with medical equipment is always a challege, especially mobility aids as the PSA doesn't seem to understand that no, I cannot stand w/o aid with my arms/legs spread in a scanner/metal detector, that's why I have a cane and/or wheeled walker in the first place.I have a travel cane that folds down & can be fit into a purse or tote easily--it's great. I personally hate flying sooooooooo much....the airport has got to be second only to the hospital ER for stress & anxiety.

This is an excellent travel advice video! As someone who has been living 2 weeks at home and 2 weeks traveling-working out of a carry on + backpack. Having an organized bag/suitcase gives me so much serotonin, lololol.

Idk if you do this but I’ve always kept my important stuff as well as a change of comfy clothes, documents/passport, money, etc in my carry on just in case (god forbid) my luggage gets stolen or lost or doesn’t arrive to my destination. This has saved me at least twice. Definitely recommend

💯 same. I never put meds in my checked bag. I’m so scared it will get lost.

So glad to have watched this, I also wanted to do solo travel to places like Rome and Hawaii. I always think that travels are made easier when you have the best travel gears and essentials too. The bento bag from Nomad Lane is my best carry-on bag for travels like this. Thought I'd share it with you guys too!

How do you get away with liquids scattered throughout your carryon? I know in the US you can be precheck and not have to pull them out in a clear plastic bag but I’m wondering about flights in Europe. Have gotten many good travel/packing tips over the years so thanks for these videos.

Love this! Fun fact, Beis has a sensor near the handle that will turn red if your bag is overweight!! Blew my mind, love Beis so much!!!!

At the airport they always undo my passport from the cover, even when I make sure the part with the picture is removed from the cover, they undo the whole thing. And they act like it's such a hassle for them. Mostly in the US. I hate traveling domestically. There's always such an attitude. They are also pretty rough with it, and the cover got damaged at one point.

Hi Taylor! I'm really considering getting a dagne backpack but read some reviews that the neoprene isn't very durable for everyday use, and I'm wondering how your backpack is doing? If I'm going to spend $200+ this thing has to last! Thanks ❤

These videos are so satisfying to watch! The biggest thing for me is to make sure I have at least one day of extra meds with me (on a carry-on so I can access it if my bags are lost) if I’m traveling for a while. Almost had to learn that the hard way after my suitcase left the airport without me once 😅 Great video as always, Taylor! 💜

The make up and other bags are far too bulky, the flatter the better for packing as that way it takes up far less volume of the case or bag!the cable case is huge for a couple of small items! flat clear bags are best... Those vaccum pack bags are terrible for travelling,rolling tightly and neatly into compression cubes and ziplock bags is the best way to pack for not only reduction of capacity but organising and the items don't look like rags when you unpack ..shoving clothes into those useless bags make them FAR MORE BULKY..I could easily fit the same items into a large capacity carry on!

I travelled a lot a few years ago when I lived abroad and always, always, always carried one set of underwear in my carry on just in case. Like you, I don't mind checking my bag and in fact always do, so I always have that one set of underwear in the event that my checked baggage goes missing.

I am a super-minimalist when I pack for travel. Don’t laugh, but the Rick Steves packing lectures really helped me commit to traveling carry-on only. Especially if you want to be *very* mobile at your destination. I have my makeup routine down to like 4 items 😅 But I make up for it by being picky about my skincare… the 3oz TSA limits also have me getting *real* creative.

Was looking for a comment similar to this since I'm going to Scotland for a month and the last thing I was to do is travel full sized. I'm attempting to travel with a carry- on only. Don't care to repeat pieces. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@luciaxurena Hi Lucia, I just came back from Scotland and publish lots of travel videos on my KZbin channel, you can check it out if you fancy! With Scotland, I would highly suggest bringing a waterproof coat as it rains quite a lot outside of the summer season. I live in England but Scotland is definitely safe to travel around even using public transportation, which I did. Good luck and have fun in Scotland!

Brush cases are a great idea but in reality they need to be at least an inch longer and 2 would be even better. They get smashed and distorted making them worthless. When you get together with Sigma again, maybe work that into your new collection?
