Yeah, yeah. Becoming a soldier and help the banditry-hooligan communist government to bully and invade little Taiwan and the South Seas. Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the US helped China develop when it decided to open up, hoping that a prosperous and advanced China would become a democratic regime. However, the Chinese are now ingrates, biting the hands which had fed them, and became an accursed bully. The CCP continues to brainwash its people with an anti-foreign sentiments, believing everyone is China's enemy and they rather embrace dictatorship than democracy because they need the CCP to protect them from invasion. The CCP also feeds them with an invading, bullying nationalistic sentiments - this is your mother's sovereignty, that's your granny's land, not to allow your daddy's balls being split apart. At first, my thoughts were this is kinda sad, a village decimated by progress and urbanization. Then I thought about middle America where drugs are ravaging the community and the young people stay put and have no jobs. Then I realized, what China has is actually better. This is what progress should look like. You can't have the best of both worlds. The school headmaster said a lot of young people left their town to work in big cities and now have good lives. That's exactly what should happen. Obviously, the most ideal scenario is the young people stay put, build up the community and make the community thriving. But that's a bit unrealistic. This place is remote, has frequent droughts and not at all a good place to live. Everybody should leave to wherever they can go to have a better life.
@RandomUserX996 жыл бұрын
yup, this is all planned. Nothing is being decimated - people moving as per govt planning.

That oversimplifies it. Planned and forced, not a community initiative. Plus, the cities are polluted and foster severe respiratory problems. I applaud people who figure out a way to stay in the countryside - with greenery and fresh air. Everyone shouldn't be forced to live in a city.
@MelissaBrownapt2156 жыл бұрын
You give the impression that moving to the city is a sure thing in terms of job security. It's anything but. Rome had the same problem as rural folk heard that the city brought financial windfalls. It didn't and there, crime proliferated of every kind. The same is true of China's cities. Balance is key, not extremism. Far left. Far right. They are both blind, both misdirected and unreasonable.

Singapore had a Central Planning government. That’s what they did in the 60s. They moved villagers out of their wooden shacks and into concrete government housing with electricity, water and sanitation. Education is mandatory, and everyone HAD to go to school. They bulldozed the villages and had everything planned centrally. Zoning, city planning, electricity grid, roads, etc. Central Planning is a complete departure from Western Liberal Democracy. State Capitalism.

Don't think poverty can be eradicated completely. However, we can bridge the wealth gap by having the rich helping the poor through a system.. Basically, the objective is to get prosperity more equally 'distributed' among citizens.

This is so eye opening. A similar migration system is affecting villages across the world. Only elderly people remaining. My heart.

Is this what a forward moving society needs? Perhaps it simply is not sustainable to live in a village anymore? You cannot blame people for wanting to move out.
@MelissaBrownapt2156 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Chan Who says they *all* want to move. Human beings do what they must to survive, from moving to committing crimes. Survival of the fittest, not faith or prayer, gets people through, even if with sustained misery. That is how the ruling elite continue. Human beings have a high threshhold for suffering, before they revolt. Think French Revolution.

Love the teachers who haven't abandoned the students even though the number of students is depressing. The teachers are the greatest givers to mankind, they enrich others' lives even though what they earn is a pittance.

9:44 made me really sad. she allowed herself to dream for just a second, and then pulled herself back together because her son is not going to be a doctor or a lawyer, and conformed with her reality. you could see she wanted to cry because she couldn't provide her son with the best opportunities, but I want all parents out there to know, we know you work hard and do your best to give us the best you can. we love you.

No. In China, ypu only need to study hard and then there is no other requirments to be a lawyer or a doctor. If you can be admitted by the universities and pass the professional exam, then you can be.

Seems to be a phenomenom all over the world. Japan has the same problem, so has countries like Russia and Finland. Rural towns are getting older when the younger folk are moving closer to bigger cities.

I'm really touched by how the kids would still want to get go to school even if it means walking for 5-6 kms in -12°c weather. And they can still smile about it. Reminds me that i should be very grateful for the things and comfort i possess now. I hope to be like the mother, who can still have a warm smile even in the most unfortunate circumstances. It seems that the area they live in is not suited very well for farming. So by any logic, it makes sense for people to move to more prosperous areas. Yes, these villages will eventually be gone, but they should be gone as they only promote poverty. We have a saying in the west. Dont send food to the people in the desert, send them UHaul Trucks. (big company that rents trucks for moving households) because nothing will ever grow in the desert, so thereby the only help you can give is moving them to areas better suited for living.
@andreashauschild51016 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about. 90% of the people that now are middle class lived in areas not so different then that. What they did is move to Shenzhen, and or other industrial areas and earn money. Sure the kids stayed behind, but in a very short time by any standards allot of these people where able to lift them self into a better live. Chinese people are very good at figuring out how to earn money. But most do it by moving away from the areas that have no money and moving to areas that are industry heavy. And yes, initially they have to do it alone and the grand parent take care of the kids, but most manage eventually to increase their income enough to either bring part or all of the family to the new place, or to provide enough money to improve the old place. And whats with throwing around statements such as mentally retarded. You must be a liberal democrat, since only those resort to name calling on simple conversations.
@andreashauschild51016 жыл бұрын
Well, again with the personal attacks, really a very low way to make a point, but that being said. If you are so humanitarian, so concerned and shocked, why dont you send your paychecks to them and help them lift them self out of situation they are in. In the US more people are ending up living on the street every year, where in China more people every year move them self into middle class. My point is that in the location they are living there is no opportunity to make money, no opportunity to improve. This means the only way they will improve the situation is if they move to a location that does have economic opportunities.
@rickyssj76956 жыл бұрын
Andreas Hauschild then again they’re probably working on moving to another place but right now they can’t bc one there dirt broke and second they have a big family and they need to feed them and make sure they survive which cost money to raise the family I’m sure they will like to move but economically they can’t and schools in he city cost money which they cannot afford therefore moving to another place will be useless and I couldn’t find any websites that I can donate some money to help them
