I did this route last year in similar weather, freezing cold, gale force winds and wet! The ascent is a challenge itself! I hated the slate on the way down with all the mist, I knew it was steep but without seeing anything else I felt disoriented!! Had to walk a few bits of the descent....knew if I came off due to lack of talent....I wouldn't get rescued quick. Agree with what you say, this route is amazing on an eeb. Cameras do not do the routes climbs and descents any justice.

That was awesome! You really learn a lot when you ride terrain like that. Poor Kara definitely looks like she could use a nap after that ride. Your trials skills would definitely pay a big advantage on that trail Tom, especially on the descent. Great terrain, loose rocky stuff will always test any rider.

Weird as I feel for saying this, but the e-bikes would totally make sense on holiday trips where you don't want to burn energy on the uphills and just enjoy the rides 🤷🏻♂️ How are they to balance on trail though? I understand the handling can be a bit more numb?
@TomCardy2 жыл бұрын
They are the best and the feel so stable descending especially with it being so windy they create lots of stability!

You are aware there are bike computers that look better and more Importantly work better than a phone. I’m really suppressed none of you bloggers overlay GPS tracks and speed when doing trails on your videos, it would give a cool indication to viewers how fast you are going.

I shall get one sorted for next time! 🤟
@PhilipTAmos2 жыл бұрын
@@TomCardy there are a lot of people (like me, I road cycle) who don’t MTB and watch the videos and would love to know how fast you are going on the downhills. It would scare the average person watching as I’m sure it’s quick. Keep up the good work.

Part of the reason you found the descent from Ullock Pike challenging is because it's a footpath and not a bridleway. Unfortunately just because someone has published a route online doesn't guarantee that's it's legally (or even physically) rideable. I'm not sure you'll particularly care, as you got the content you needed, but I'd recommend checking your route on an actual OS map next time just to be sure, rather than relying on a GPS.
