This is pure genius and brilliantly done and taught! Thank you for sharing such quality! My thought…place duplicate card corner inside the real tic-tac box inside the card box. Use a torn corner force to get the card and a duplicate real tic tac box at start as convincer. Swap real for gimmick while spec. puts torn corner on box. Boom!

You are undoubtedly rising in popularity with each passing day, Lloyd. While other notable magicians are charging an arm & a leg for their effects in order to make a living, here comes Lloyd Barnes waltzing onto the scene, having started a following on E!, and releasing a cache of new material, a virtual waterfall of mind-blowing eye candy but not charging a single dime. Maxim could have garnered you $99 yet you let it go for a mere 25% of that. Same goes for Cognito. But this, Lloyd, this Tic Tac illusion is outstanding! And, it's free?? My God, man! Have you lost your marbles? What in the 🌎 is your motivation, since it isn't money? I was thinking of releasing some of my own material which I've honed and kept secret for over 20 years, but not now. You have turned the magic 🌎 upside down & I can't figure out why, but I LOVE IT!! I know this won't last forever because miracles never do. You are an enigma and I salute you.
@cliveedwards29582 жыл бұрын
I think this is probably the most visual gimmick/trick you have ever created..just insane when you first see it and I genuinely had no idea how it was done..my best guess was the box had a trap door..but it is way to slick to be that...they always say never do a trick more than once, but you kept upping the anti and each time it became more impossible! I'm not a magician..I just love the puzzle of it all..and this is a 10/10
@EvolvingMagic2 жыл бұрын
Great piece Lloyd. 😎👌 For those curious if you COULD combine it with Daniel Madison's Angle Zero, (wrote how below), because you may want to have a wider context for this effect than a good "stand alone" or an "opener" effect. How to do it is you first do the Angle Zero effect, let people react, and have the similar duplicate corner shuttle passed in and set on the table. Do this at a casual opportunity. As an "afterthought", ("Oh, there's one more thing I wanted to show you...") You can "turn real fast" and bring out the card box, as well as setup the gimmick with the real corner behind it, do Lloyd's trick, and end "clean", as they'll want a mint after that trick!!! Boom. Wider context, and IMO, the effects compliment each other. Enjoy y'all. 🤪
@SteveFrenchWoodNStuff2 жыл бұрын
More amazing work! That sound when the gimmick snaps onto the card pack really helps to sell the illusion that a solid TicTac container collided with the card pack. It adds a perfect nuance to the already impressive visual magic.
@pacman522802 жыл бұрын
The corner through the card box, which really was the Tic Tac box through the card box, reminds me of a much smaller version of the classic effect where you take a glass, a quarter, and a napkin, and tell the audience you're going to make the penny go through the table, but the glass actually does.

You could also add a layer of very thin clear plastic to the card front to make the tic-tac gimmick look like a real plastic box. I guess at the end you can pass them the tic-tac box and then palm the gimmick and then give them the card box to examine - you'd need to cover the magnets inside the box with white paper. Such a cool trick.

Love this effect. Another idea would be to throw the tic-tac box onto the box with the torn corner ontop but have everything dissappear. Then when you go to open the box you could have the tic-tac box inside with the torn corner inside the tic-tac box :)
@claudia314132 жыл бұрын
Or even have it be a folded card ontop of the box which had been sitting there the whole time. Then do any effect using a signed card which you can mercury fold at the end. Bring the attention to the box with the folded card on top of it and go into you pockets to bring out the tic-tacs. Throw the tic-tacs at the box and the spectators will see both the tic-tacs and the folded card dissappear. Then open the card box to reveal the tic-tac box inside with a folded card inside the tic-tac box. Then finally switch out the folded card inside the tic-tac box for the signed card from earlier and you have an extremely visual object at an impossible location effect 😁

HAHA this is a banger! I was so fooled. Sorry, let me back up. I thought this was another Barnes Door Principle (trademark pending) using some elastic thread and you were literally throwing a real Tic Tac box in through a trap door. That was really nice! For the corner card, how about putting the 2nd corner inside the tic tac box in front of the tic tacs, inside the card box? Then the corner vanishes when the tic tacs penetrate the box and ends up inside the tic tac box as if the tic tacs picked the corner up on the way through (corner would need to be face down on top of the box in this case) - seems even more impossible as how could you have got the corner inside the sealed tic tac box and would make a nice display at the end, matching the forced chosen card up with the card corner whilst still inside the box.
