I love how on one of those manifests the first gon is a Ferromex, long way from home.

As an Alaskan the Alaska railroad is a vital source for our transportation. Mining equipment, military, and machinery of all sorts is crucial to the Alaska people.

We used to regularly watch Rail Road Alaska as TV serial mamy years ago. Anchorage, Fair Banks are a few stations still in our mind.All on Board shout by the train conductor still echoes in our ears.

A Fantastic Video. Brought back memories of our trip to Alaska in 2014. We were riding on some of the same rails in this video. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe out there.

1:29 Leave it to a couple of cars to ruin the peaceful serenity. Classic 2:17 Hey, it's a triple header elephant style. I love seeing that. 10:27 A clear winner for the thumbnail. Beautiful shot and fantastic horns to boot. 24:10 This is a pretty eclectic manifest. Makes all the boxcars, auto racks, and intermodal traffic seem boring. 26:07 These segments of rail are surprisingly short. Does anyone know when these tracks were laid? 27:53 Pacing shots are just the BEST. 40:50 Man, I was waiting for a horn blast on the exit. Thanks Michael, for another great video!

One day (somehow) the Alaska railway will be linked to Canadian Rails. It's a great shame it wasn't done back in the days when the railway was forged deep into the wilderness, they just don't have the will these days.
@cdavid8139Ай бұрын
They did not have the will in the past either

Wayside Quiet Zone horn. Installed in a train horn quiet zone and produces the sound of an actual train horn. They’re often placed near residential neighborhoods.
