Mankind has transported and built huge structures that need massive vehicles to be moved. For every massive object, you need another one to transport it and some of these constructions are the most awe inspiring of all.

I moved a boulder last December. Just a small 4.5 ton rock. One a trailer made to transport a large backhoe. Red light turned yellow. I tried to stop. Truck brake line ruptured. Cost me my truck and the car I ran into. Still have that rock. NEVER moving it again! Just a Random story.

I was impressed when the Cape Hattaras lighthouse was moved. It wasn't the biggest or heaviest thing out there, but it was, to my knowledge, a completely masonry structure and thus rather fragile. I saw it before it was moved and am very happy that the North Carolina landmark is still out there.

Moving some new beer tanks from Europe where they were built to Toronto, Ontario, Canada was an enormous feat. They had to dock in Hamilton, because Toronto had no place big enough to offload. It then took over three days to get it home. Moving lights, wires, etc. and closing highways as it went.

There should be an honorable mention . Back in the 30's I think. infor is sketchy. and couldn't find anything. But I saw a documentary. a then skyscraper medical building in New Orleans was moved across the street. they didn't like it there and moved it back. Its an old art deco building. and it the OLD Charity Hospital complex. Still in use as far as I know.
