I am going to say it. I love watching these shows. They make it look so exciting with the music and all...fish damn near jumping in the boat all on their own. I unfortunately am that sorry ass fishing from the shore that has only 3 or 4 places to work with. Over grown with weeds, mosquitos from hell, spiders in great abundance and half the time fishless. I catch just about more rheumatism and hell from my wife than anything else. He said he doesn't care about the sun! Let me tell you! I get baked to such a crisp I come home with the consistency of jerky. Just kidding, I do pretty well but I do have days like the one I just described.

Strike King perfect plastics for largemouth bass and of course the Snag Proof frogs for exciting topwater action.

Caught three 2-2.5 pounders yesterday in two hours at the local pond when it was windy. Stayed close to the ledges like you mentioned, Texas rigging a creature bait.

When do you know when to use a spinning reel vs a casting reel?
@ncbassmaster2510 жыл бұрын
spinning gear is best used for finesse fish such as wacky rigs, drop shot, shakey head, weightless,etc. bait casters are for all other applications such as flipping and pitching, jigs n pigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swim jigs, crankbaits,etc however i use a 7'6 medium heavy spinning gear combo for bzzbaits, frogs, small jigs(1/16oz-1/4oz), buzzbait, poppers/spooks,etc you wan tot make sure you use a baitcaster for heavier baits and a spinning for lighter ones.

I’ve been having a heck of a time bass fishing shorelines in wind. Especially when wind is blowing to or away from shore. I too like to methodically work a spot but boat control in the wind means maybe two casts before I’m off the spot. Any advice is appreciated. I was thinking that’s why all the pros use power poles, but you don’t. Thanks. Nice video.
@ExtremeAnglerTV6 жыл бұрын
Try fast moving baits for reaction strikes; now I have the power poles that I can fish almost anywhere in any wind that is still safe to fish

Did he say first 50 fish? Where I'm from, you are lucky if you get 3 for the day. Think the pro's should come try fish our waters and see how well they do!

lol if i had that kind of money I would rather use it to come visit(or immigrate to) you guys. Been blanking the last while (post spawn lock jaw and having a heat wave), but had a bit of a low pressure come in, and caught a pair of 2 pounders this weekend on a suspended jerk bait...so not all bad. Hopefully picks up from here.

you should really try using a swim jig as one of your horizontal presentations. I catch tons of bass on a 3/8 oz swim jig with a rage craw as a trailer here in Wisconsin in areas just like your fishing.

as much as i kinda like weedless frogs i like hula popper better for its action in the water that it creates on the surface, i get a lot of hits on the popper frog, i just wish they made a weedless version as i don't have too much luck with the traditional weedless frog.
@ExtremeAnglerTV7 жыл бұрын
You have to let the bass inhale the frog and close the mouth on it before setting hook,

If I had one piece of constructive criticism it would be that I looked up "catching bass in windy conditions". I'm trying to cram a bit of knowledge before heading out on a 30mph wind day. The 2 min intro is cool, but if you're delivering critical info I'd consider condensing that intro down a bit to get right into the info we came for. Just a thought. I watched the video and learned a lot. Subbed.

Whats your take on match the hatch, pure braid vs a leader? Me personally, I don't think fish can see the line or if they do they aren't phased by it cause they can see the hooks too. If that were true the A rig wouldn't catch fish. I also dont get why some people fill a spool with 30 lb braid just to tie a smaller test floro or mono leader to it. Makes no sense, cause now you are fishing with the smaller lb test...weakest link?
@ExtremeAnglerTV6 жыл бұрын
only on drop shot do I implore braid to fluoro so 'no line twists and the line sinks faster when I am fishing for suspended fish below the boat"; having confidence is paramount to success and when I use fluorocarbon in clear water, I get more confidence, period. Frog fishing is all about braid.

Trust me, I would love the opportunity, but the investment in time and cost alone for a Canadian to seriously compete is 'huge' and not realistic. Some have tried but in the end, it comes down to having real deep pockets. Thanks for watching.
