Thanks a million for this video. The assembly instructions looked more complicated than the entire tiling job. Your video was excellent for getting past this obstacle. The saw works perfectly, excellent cuts, lightweight, powerful.

Great video, the instructions in the box made the assembly pretty daunting and your video knocked this down to about 30 minutes for me. Now time for the tile cutting 😂

Doing tile for the first time with my kitchen backsplash and picked one of these up gently used. Your video is excellent for helping me know the parts/assembly since I didn't need to assemble it. Thanks!

According to manual, the pump cord and hose are supposed to remain in water tray and exit under the motor housing so as not to interfere with the sliding tray ( as you have installed )

Thank you! I’m actively shopping to upgrade from my cheapest saw that Harbor Freight sells (hobby stone tumbling cleanup) to one that will cut 5/8” ceramic. This will do.

Great vid. Im upgrading as well from my super reliable used QEP that remodeled 2 bath rooms. Deciding between this RIGID & the Kobalt 7" w/ Table. Both, in my opinion, decent values. Never owned either brands. Im not seeing as many vids on the Kobalt 7" (only the 10" ) - many reviews on this RIGID. RIGID - Better stand (prob will never change the height. ( $50 less than Kobalt) & Lifetime parts & service. Kobalt - - Simple stand, A little bit higher amp & HP - add on side table and back splash, motor lock when installing blade, LED light (plus laser) Give & take between both. Flip a coin.🤔
@Housebarons
@Housebarons Жыл бұрын
Hey Mr…, We’ve owned both. The Kobalt was smaller and blade was table mounted. Much prefer the RIGID arm mounted blade. If nothing else, direction of spin of the blade keeps us much dryer! Thx for watching!

Does anyone know what the max distance between the blade and the lever arm is? I'm trying to see if I can cut wide tiles with that or not

Do tile saws have a high injury rate like table saws? Any safety precautions?
@Housebarons
@Housebarons Жыл бұрын
Hey vagrant…, Only a guess (personal experience) , but I highly doubt it. The “blade” is essentially a grinder - cutting slowly by friction. Eye protection is very important ( stray chips) but I don’t think the blade itself poses much serious injury risk at all when compared to a table saw - unless you aren’t paying any attention. Any power tool can injure you, but this one certainly can’t be high on the list for major blade injures. Even picking up little porcelain tile chips w/ bare hands is probably more likely to cut you as they can be sharp. This title saw cuts slowly and precisely. Table saws for cutting wood are in a category all by themselves - that cutting action is explosively fast and unforgiving! Hope that helps. Thx for watching.

@@Housebarons Thanks! That does make sense. A table saw's teeth will pull you in but this grinding blade looks pretty tame in comparison.

I saw your rear splash guard getting caught on the table. Mines doing the same thing. Later in the video it wasn’t getting caught anymore, did you do something to fix it?

Hey Jay, Honestly don’t remember doing anything. I did look at it a bit and it seems just like an 1/8 inch off the table- very close. Thx for watching!

I am wondering the same thing myself. I tried a dry test without any cutting and the back pair of wheels fall off the rails when you pull the sled back far enough to rip the tile length wise. It causes the sled to jump a bit which will likely affect the cut. I am going to try an actual cut this weekend and will let you know how it goes.

I have not. I have used 12x24. I’m not by my saw now, but if 24x24 fit on the table depth, then it has the power to do it well. Thx for watching!
