ADMIRABLE RESPONSES: The responses by this '...Hungarian Representative,' can only be described as '...Admirable.' As if he knew when '...Stephen Sackur' was going to deliver a short-pitched ball, he appeared '...well-positioned to hook him over the boundary line.' He has acquitted himself exceedingly well, and has done his country good.' Liked his description '...political lynching; and '...Glad those words came from your mouth; ...would have bee rude if they came from my mouth;' ...Alice in wonderland politics.' Real '...HARDtalk.' Enjoyed the interaction.

All political parties are required to donate 15% of their current account cash to the Hungarian Emergency Response Fund, so as to fight the crisis ! This is in fact a very good measure we should apply in Belgium !!!!! Globalists should stop lynching Hungary !!!!

I think a lot of you are missing the point of HARDtalk. The guests are there to defend their own beliefs against aggressive, accusatory, biased questioning. Sackur's questions are not indicative of his own bias. His questions are supposed to be positioned as a diametric opposite to whoever he's interviewing. You are free to the opinion that this style of interview is unhelpful or dishonest, but the aggressive questioning is literally the point. 'HARD' talk.

Did you guys notice the Great Hungary (*"Nagy Magyarorszag") map in Kovacs's background? ... for those who don't know the history... this WAS the territory of Hungary BEFORE the World Wars. It is currently used as a far-right nationalist symbol in Hungary. Lots of Hungarians maintain the desire to re-gain those 'lost' territories which still have significant Hungarian ethnic populations... like Transylvania (currently part of Romania). But as far as we know this is not the official policy of the Hungarian government (at least it has not been declared as such).

Many apparently don t get the point of this show. The moderator challenges his guests to answer tough, uncomfortable questions. What's important are the answers to these questions and how the quest handles them. More like a debate. If you sympathize with the guest it must be painful to you that someone would dare treat them in such a manner...but guests know what is in store for them and willingly sign on to be a guest......for some reason.

Most comments here show a lack of understanding of Hardtalk's premise. The role of the presenter is to play "devil's advocate" and be contentious...on purpose, instead of showing the deference and respect (more likely fear) you might be more accustomed to in more authoritarian countries.

This interview is showing exactly how the Hungarian officials are not answering questions put in front of them by the journalist if the questions are reflecting other views than those the Hungarian government. Kovacs is behaving as if it was a press conference - no answers, only statements. The line of the argument - don't listen to the voices coming from Hungary and EU institutions, listen to what the government says.
