Bullpups are where a gun magazine feed system is placed behind the trigger/grip, the concept is to increase the barrel length and in turn increase the velocity of the round while keeping a similar gun size or potentially making it a smaller overall length.
@JoshSweetvale
@JoshSweetvale 2 жыл бұрын
I always snidely exclaim "Bullpups are the future!" Because the longer barrel and the mag being in the stock is really efficient... but they're overcomplicated, and we're not there yet. Think of modern bows, with all kinds of pulleys to manage tension. That's sorta the level we'll need to be at to make bullpups sensible. And an AK will still work almost as good.

The stock is basically wasted space in a regular gun, since it's literally just solid wood, metal, or even an open framework. But the stock has to exist to enable the user to absorb recoil, so the bullpup makes a lot of sense, because it uses that space to house a lot of the mechanics without adding so much extra gun to the front of the stock.

Ah, yes. The G11. Kraut Space Magic. Caseless ammo in a chambering system that I don't have the time to explain. It's an amazing example of how firearms technology is never as simple as you think it is. Trust me, I'm a Gunsmith. (I'm using kraut with no malice here. 27:00 The real version of that gun, the G11, is an interesting concept that H&K was building to create a rifle that fired caseless ammunition. You can probably find a video from Forgotten Weapons about it. It's a unique gun unlike anything you've seen before.

That G11 the chonky Star wars prop gun was a solid block of German's over engineer. Magazine on top, 90 degree rotating bolt, delayed recoil in burst fire mode, caseless ammunition, 600 rpm for automatic but 2000 rpm for burst fire mode.
@PhycoKrusk
@PhycoKrusk 2 жыл бұрын
A neat idea for sure, but it was never really going to work. Never mind that the way they manufactured the caseless ammo for it was to simply take the bullet and embed it in a solid block of propellent. Workable on paper, but not really practical when you consider that it's now exposed to all of the elements, and since it's going into the chamber where no heat has been removed since the last round was fired, it has to be resistant to auto-ignition. I remain convinced that the engineering team that came up with it was fired from H&K, and then travelled to the United States and found new jobs at KelTec.

ahh the good old g11, it looks like a brick and is built like a clock. The swiss made it and it's the work of madmen, great gun but it's incredibly expensive and if it malfunctions you would never be able to fix it in the field due to how complex it is, also it uses a weird tube magazine and it looks like you're taking the barrel out and replacing it when you reload it.

"It looks like some pipes welded together" the best description of a stem gun ever that's what it is during ww2 these were developed by the British to quickly and cheaply replace all the expensive Thompson's lost during the German invasion of France, they were dropped behind enemy lines to aid the resistance and some were even built from scratch in garages and sheds all over occupied Europe so many were made and they are so simple to reproduce the damned things still crop up in the far corners Of the world to this day you should check out gun Jesus on forgotten weapons firing a rare original suppressed sten giggling like a kid at Christmas.

Yah, in simplest terms. Bullpup is a gun, where the trigger group (the trigger (and the bits related to it), the grip and sometimes fireselector) are in front of the magazine instead of behind. This allows you to have over all shorter gun, but with full size barrel. Barrel length being important in maximizing the powder burn, which makes the bullet accelerate as fast as possible. Fast bullet means, better range, flatter flight path and better penetration/more kinetic force. People are typically against bullpups, because they're americans and are used to only the ar15 platform. Some actual valid criticisms involve the inability (on some) bullpups to be fully ambidextrous, the trigger (which is like 60% of if you can shoot accurately) being not amazing and in fringe cases, the sound. My own opinions about bullpups, they're just as fine as anything else. Except if we're talking about groza, groza is a sin against cosmic existence and shouldn't exist.
@DissedRedEngie

Putting a bipod on the barrel isn't great, because when you let the bipod take some of the weight of the gun. The barrel is going to ever so slightly curve upwards, which throws your zero (the calibration of your sights) out the window. This is why free floating barrel is a term, it's when none of the accessories are directly attached to the barrel (note, in some applications, this can be a good thing).
@DissedRedEngie

27:10 the idea behind G11 was the hyper burst. Burst fire was conceived as an idea to increase hit probably, the idea being that full-auto is inaccurate, but semi-auto is accurate. So as a middle ground, burst fire was conceived, controlled bursts of fire. Well, burst doesn't really work that well, it's fine, but not better than either other mode. So, another idea was thought, "what if the burst was so fast, the shooter felt the recoil of one shot" the hyper burst. Conclusion was a clockwork machine way too complicated for common soldier, or an ak with a goddamn pulley system inside the receiver.

15:50 to be fair there are a few under folded stocks that you need to remove the mag to fold/unfould presuming there is not a like 5 round magazine in it (that really short one that some says are only there to act as a empty insert (to prevent dust from coming in). 18:37 probebly not this case but I sort of recall a story about some weird definition on stuff aka someone figure out if I remove the hand grip from my weapon it becomes classified as something else (in his/her case something more favorable) problem is how do I hold/fire it whit out a handle. just use something thats not classified as a grip like a dear hoof or something the Tax office /NRA did not see that one coming. 24:47 I sort of like what that guy is doing just because it sort of works as a crude sketch and I Think Brandon have taken a few guns of this kind and made actuall working version. not sure if the Moscow typewriter was one of his creation ("sketch") or someones else. yes brandon did a AK version of the Tompson SMG in the 1919-1920 variant (gangsta gun).

well damn, first... holy shit. also this is among the recent ones if i remember correctly... edit: 5:22 so from what i can gather from the outside of the guns workings, you basicly cycle the gun by pulling the trigger guard down, but that doesnt work cuz thats an AK... so its just a wierd dysfunctional gun-shaped object. also the "pubes" part got me rolling on the floor ngl. 8:17 WW1-WW2 SMG that operates on an open bolt system, i dont need to explain much given he does it alot better and in more detail. also bullpups are when your ammo is behind the trigger group, its done in order to try and make the gun smaller and easier to carry in tight spaces. 18:45 i swear to god this is one of my favourite cursed gun images... the others i dont want to spoil cuz theyre also in this series of vids... 21:04 gotta include some furniture(the wood bits) on AK builds, at least thats my personal take on it.
