I will be uploading some more lift related videos soon. The problem is always the dedication of time to complete videos. I am already editing some lift videos, but I cannot do an hour here and there. I need like, a whole evening of 'quality editing' to get them done. As you may know, most of my videos take ages to edit. Luckily I'm away in a week or so (on business) with 4 nights in a hotel to catch up!

Brilliant, loved every minute of your video. Yes, variables like roadworks or forgotten to fuel up the car happens sometimes and can cause matters to turn to custard.
@mrmattandmrchay Жыл бұрын
Quite a lot of logistics to film all these in one hit. I live about 400 miles away and im only up here on business. Very difficult to get the timing right to be available and in the area for the 3rd Thursday of the month. Thanks for watching and for the kind comments

Other than Carstairs and Broadmoor(I know broadmoor system is mostly gone now/inactive?), is there any other state hospital or prison siren systems still standing - active or otherwise?
@MichalM5 жыл бұрын
You're right to question the status of the Broadmoor Sirens. The council's are being a bit vague at the moment. What I do know for a fact is that Siren G still works, albeit a bit badly, all the others have been decommissioned, and Siren F was on its tower 1 week ago. Check out my channel for the latest video of siren G Sounding.

With regards to other sirens, I'm not sure. There are supposedly a set of sirens at Eton College but these are very rarely tested.
@al66class595 жыл бұрын
The other two British psychiatric hospitals (rampton/Ashworth) both have one siren each, which broadmoor will be like soon. Then you’ve got the Calderdale flood sirens, possibly five sirens in Northampton, various other flood sirens, Portsmouth and Plymouth naval base alarms (which are castle castings apparently), various industrial sites with sirens, and a few non-operational sirens still left up on their poles. There is also the Severnside modulator network warning of hazardous chemicals.

Sounds like the last sirene was i star mode long time and then switch to delta mode on the motor
@mrmattandmrchay5 жыл бұрын
yep - I didn't realise this at the time. Didn't think it was a two speed/windings motor, so star-delta can be the only explanation.

There used to be a siren in Herne Hill London, near the entrance to Brockwell Park; I think it was World war II but is was removed long ago, ‘80s maybe. I don’t know if it was ever tested, I never heard it. The only one I ever heard was in Greenford, West London, not an area which I normally go to. I saw some men working in a cabinet at the base of the column. Several minutes later I heard it tested, but I would have been the best part of a kilometre away by then. I saw a few others over the years; one was on the roof of a police station which I used to pass on the bus going to college in the ‘70s. This one was also removed long ago. None of these had the shutters which the Broadmoor ones had. What is the power rating of the motors on these things?

What you did reminded me of that dream where I did a duplicated siren prank at school. I had that dream back in 2015. It was funny and it scared everyone out of the school. I got away with it by owning a fast car, being smart and stealthy.

We've got some really heavy duty loud sirens at work (nuclear power station) which really do make the ground vibrate when they test them each month ! Great video as always, do you know how the sirens are controlled ?

Nicely done (probably said that already lol) but what harm is it to say it again? Have you got any of my emails recently (namely the Calderdale one), just wondered whether you’d actually seen them, or if you haven’t any time to reply. I’ve also got some very exciting Siren-related news- which I’ll announce somewhere once the first phase is completed tomorrow!

It's good when you ca actually plan the timings to get to these sirens! Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a MrMatt&MrChay Siren Filming Criteria because that might be useful to evaluate the sirens like you do with your Lift Filming Criteria?
@mrmattandmrchay5 жыл бұрын
a mrmattandmrchay 'siren' filming criteria is a good idea - I like it! It might be too late now though. I suppose the criteria could be "motor not speaker", "slightly loud and scary", "must see moving parts", hmmm, can't think of any more!
@ReeceL1015 жыл бұрын
@@mrmattandmrchay It's never too late for anything to be completely honest, I would say go for that like you do with the Lift Filming Criteria because I like that to be honest.

I am interested to Sirens. When I am a grow up, I am going to be visiting you 2, and I will film siren videos that you never done for Carstairs sirens. Chay Chay, you are going to be using a Sony oldest camera, mr. Matt you are going to be using a body cam, and I will be using a GoPro to film three Sirens of Broadmoor sirens first of all, Second of all three of us are going to be filming one siren on a federal single Thunderbolt 1003A in The United States of America, and third of all right now you got to film more siren videos in United Kingdom of Europe.

@@mrmattandmrchay Fine thanks, how are you? I have to say that I'm now starting to love these sirens - hearing one at Broadmoor was an amazing experience, and I'm glad you inspired me to go to Broadmoor and try and hear one, no matter how unlikely it is to sound! I'm planning on seeing Siren G (Hospital one) again on Monday, as that's now the only one still being tested. Keep up the good work!
