Those gmc generals weren’t in good shape when they were new. I drove them, junk. There’s a good reason why GM got out of the class 8 truck business, and then entirely out of the commercial truck business so many years ago.

They produced more GMC Generals then Chevrolet Bisons that is because GMC dealers could service the heavyduty customers Chevy dealers were not equipped or had the personnel to service the heavy class 7 threw 8 commercial customers the Chevy dealers that sold Bisons & Bruins & Kodiaks were always in rural areas mostly Farmers & small construction companies bought them they were built on the same assembly line as the General in Detroit Michigan at the 13th avenue truck plant I believe that I read somewhere I could be wrong there is not enough information on these trucks
@ANate7772 жыл бұрын
These and all of the GMC and Chevrolet heavy duty truck line up were built at GMC Truck and Coach Plant in Pontiac, Michigan. They also built busses there at a separate facility. I had an uncle who worked there for many years and eventually retired from there. As a kid I visited that plant many times for their annual employee family day event (GMC Open House). They had all of their latest products on display and visitors got to climb in and out of the trucks. They also had a short plant tour, food and festivities. I remember seeing seemingly endless parking lots full of brand new GMC products. I recall Fleet Carrier Corporation Transporting the finished trucks piggy back style on low boy type trailers pulled by GMC Astros with sleeper cabs. GMC ran A top notch operation and the employees were proud of what they built.
