I too, when young was adventurous n full of life. Seeing this video when you were in the water n cliffs just took me away to my youth. Enjoy every second of your youth n strength that you can. You are a very lucky young man. ENJOY. ❤️ 4:07 stunning beautifully done.

Don't listen to the negative crew that have struggled to find jobs. Let them remain negative. Form a routine that is manageable and stick to it everyday. Network everywhere you go. Listen and dont get defensive when asked to do something or asked WHY you did something. Simply listen and learn ... aka be teachable.

Hey mate, been a huge fan from day 1. How much more difficult is it becoming to land jobs as a green crew as port security tightens, I know some locations don’t allow the general public onto docks now so how can prospective crew hunt out their first job?
@jaredwatney5 жыл бұрын
We all struggle to get into places. Once you are in though, there are fewer people looking. You need to consider, dockwalking is a way of networking. Meet and hang out with as many yacht crew as you can. Crew houses, events, bars etc. It all helps.

Hey Jared, Would you consider your job to be a stepping stone to being a captain one day? Is it a stepping stone to something in yachting for you at all? Or just a cool thing do be doing for the moment? (assuming KZbin doesn't become your full time gig)
@jaredwatney5 жыл бұрын
Haha. Your question made me smile because I thought more people were going to ask me questions like this and then I got to this one and had to think about how I was going to respond. -- Firstly Thanks for asking 2nd - There will be an entire video made on this question --- Yachting is an incredible means of allowing you to buy some time in life. It allows you to save and learn. It allows you to be dedicated and to eat sh*t for a while. It teaches you to work hard and to be patient and understanding. After a while yacht crew decide to either take it on and be a captain or use it to get them to the next stage of their life. Here is the part many of you probably wouldn’t expect to read. Yachting has ALWAYS been a stepping stone for me. I have founded two businesses with saved money from yachting. I have made it the topic of my youtube channel because there are lots about it that I absolutely LOVE but working as crew will not be one of them forever. My next phase will still be very yachting focused but not having youtube take the backseat.

Good question Ben. I think you have acknowledged something many people don't. The content I release is not always up to me. Unfortunately, while guests are onboard it is VERY difficult to get content out. If you ever see a period where I don't upload for a while it's usually not in my control. I will do my best.
