Greenland is a part of European Union and has a high strategic importance, particularly because the trumpist US threatens EU.

Greenland is not part of the EU. They are part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but many years ago had a referendum and left the EU. They have some special status, though.

As an American I am all for this. With Greenland the US can monitor ships that transit the Canadian arctic because both Denmark and Canada aren't doing their part. The last thing we need is for Greenland to be sold to a country like China or let them have a chance to put a base of their own there.
