2:30 I have to give him credit for the proper use of a mid-engine vehicle in high water conditions... I did that same thing in a Texas flood with my car, and it stunk like hell afterwards since you're basically driving through sewage. Had to strip the interior out and clean everything with a carpet extractor to get rid of that stench. I guess if you are that stupid but have money, you can fork over $2k to a dealer detailing department to do the same. Moral of the story is just wait. It will be easier.

@David Antony Depends on how much water it took in. If it just flooded the footwells then it probably would not be too bad. When I cleaned mine up only the floor had been wet and it was a matter of taking out the seats and cleaning the carpet. After that all was well again. If, like I suspect, it came in through the HVAC ducting and into the dash and console then its much worse. Even worse still would be for it to have made it up to the level of the seat upholstery, then its new interior time unless they can do a good job at cleaning them. And who said he was a genius? And what about "having $2k"? If he has a late model 'vette then he probably has a lot more than that, or he is just fake flexing on bad credit. Who knows.

@@IrishAmerican17 What do you even mean? The driver with the dash cam was unable to see the stopped car due to the car right in front of him blocking his view. Also since the car infront of him was going pretty fast he probably assumed the road is clear. The second the stopped car came into view he hit the brakes and tried steering around the stopped car. Clearly the guy who decided it was a good idea to stop in the middle of the highway is at fault here.

In my opinion, partially. People are not looking nearly far enough down the road and are too complacent about maintaining a buffer for braking and visibility. They also should be reducing speed significantly for that stopped car for obvious reasons. If he had done that to me, I would have immediately dropped about 15 - 20 mph to re-establish distance and allow for the possibility of what actually happened here. Instead the dascam guy basically maintained speed because this level of non-caution is so normalized in the states (or is this Canada?). He's also passing into the slow lane, just like the driver who caused the accident. The couple on the side of the road are clearly putting themselves in danger by standing where they did too, which is very likely why the car closest to them had slowed down so much (incidentally, that driver likely could have been driving at a more appropriate speed for that lane...). The guy has parked very close into traffic to allow very ample space for the woman to get out of the car, and for some reason they chose to talk at the edge of the car which was the very closest to traffic. My guess is the girl rushed out as quickly as she could because she wanted to "feel safe" by standing closer to him.
