I just installed this intake on my 2020 taco and after driving about 50 miles. My check engine and trac control light is coming on. How do I prevent this from happening. I have checked all my fittings to make sure nothing is loose.

Has anyone tried using the factory air box with just the KN intake tubing? I go offroading a lot and use the K&N dry charger but still sketches me out having an open filter near mud and dust etc. I know that’s what the dry charger is for but just checking if anyone has tried the tubing with stock airbox

K&n makes a kit that only replaces the tubing. I use it without any issues off road. Plus I get all the induction noise.

That rubber seal is a pain in the ass to put on. K&N left out the air box bracket bolt so I sourced one locally. Of course that bolt was a little larger than the bracket and air box holes so I got in some quality time with my Dremel tool enlarging those slots. This CAI is loud AF when you put your foot in it. Enjoy

Also, Toyota has to prove your cold air intake is what caused any damage requiring warranty.

For light trails, rock crawling, overlanding and small mud puddles, this will work perfect! If you're doing a lot of water crossing or going mudding really often, I would reconsider. -Zach

wrong, the stock tacoma has to be carb certified making it restricted slightly. This doesnt have to be. Therefore this is less restrictive and allows air to be pulled in more smoothly with less resistance and delay while also decreases air temperatures when combustion happens.

This isnt a CAI. A true CAI does not pull air from the HOT engine compartment.
