EXTRUSION RECTANGULAR WIRE - ORTHODONTIC TIPS

*In orthodontics, there’s no free lunch; there’s always a price to pay for what is being done.* This is a phrase I always say in my courses. A very clear example is the attempt we sometimes make to correct vertical steps between adjacent teeth, which can end up creating unwanted moments, leading to horizontal steps or uneven incisal edges of incisors.
There are two ways to address this. One is by using rectangular wires and individual step bends. With these wires, it’s possible to incorporate torques to control this crown inclination towards the palate.
There is another way to do this, which I will discuss in a future post.
