Geo & Charlie discuss news from ExWHUEmployee that Tim Steidten is under pressure to sign the best striker for West Ham United this summer due to previous failings and he also confirmed Alexander Sørloth of Villareal as a transfer target for The Hammers.
Julen Lopetegui signed his main target of Max Kilman as his 3rd signing of the summer transfer window and the striker position is next for the Head Coach and Tim Steidten

I’m with ya Geo… No to Sorloth… I would prefer a younger age profile, that being said would take Toney in a heartbeat. I think we will need to look at the free and loan market at some point aswell… Gabriel Barbosa, a player heavily linked with us before, contract is up in December (January signing) Ndidi who was at Leicester interests me, if he could recapture the form he had in his 1st season at Leicester I’d be interested for sure.

Toney contrary to what some may feel, I think would mesh well w/Lope's expressed intention of ball. Whether it's the 4-3-3, or 3-4-3, 4-2-3-1, whatever set up, with Lope's want for aggressive philosophy on the pitch, making noise so to speak, Ivan may be that presence needed.

I think from all the links we can derive that lopetegui system relies on having a striker that is an aerial threat, has some pace, is physically imposing but also smart in terms of making movement in the box. I think Toney would be my preferred choice but I can’t see it happening unless no one goes for him and I don’t know if I’d want a player that clearly doesn’t see us as a club that matches his ambitions because if things go bad, his head will drop and he’ll act like Phillips did. Omodorion would be my second because of the age and player profile and then En-Nesryi if we can get him for as cheap as reported.

Sorloth, I see as a better option than En-Nesryi. Omodorion's price is skyrocketing, and rightly so. Atletico know full-well what they have on their hands. Still want an inverted LWer (Wesley in particular), aswell.

I'm shell shocked by all the strikers' names I've heard put forward so far this summer. I can no longer see the trees for the wood. Purposely reversed the saying. The only thing I know for certain is who I do not want. C.Wilson, M.Depay. I would hope Tim has a few names in mind that will be good for club. We do have goals from various areas of the pitch so can develop a younger player. Antonio can still do it; when he is fit😬 Tricky.

Speaking about Real Madrid footballers, Uruguay gave Endrick a hard life lesson last night. They ragdolled him brutally from the opening whistle. Brazil, were done in the first minute after Endrick got squashed. He completed one pass game long. it was the opening kickoff.

I'm not huge on Sorolth either but for arguments sake look at Mateta who is at Palace for years and last year right coach, he came alive. And if the wages are right I'd take Depay, I wanted last time free agent. Think he suits the PL and has bit to prove. LW CF SS, on a two year deal definitely. Plus he has that right big of ego

I'm not sure the strategy has been ideal tbh. I would have shoved my resources into a right-footed, left-winger and a CF. The only way this summer can be retrieved is by getting a good fee for Aguerd and possibly Downes, and hopefully, that gets enough money for the winger and CF. Two positions we can not cut corners on. I rate Kilman, but the reason he was identified was because of Aguerd and Moyes's falling out. If Aguerd isn't moved on, you are looking at an expensive sub. Wesley would have been a better signing than Guilherme. That doesn't mean he's a better player, just better suited to our needs. Early business doesn't mean good business.

@@HammersChat As far as I see it, we've spent 60 odd million and barely improved. Kilman is a level above Aguerd, Guilherme I find it hard to find a place for immediately and Wes is Wes. Tim may be a fraud.

@@HammersChat I always write more when I feel things aren't going well. In hope someone who runs a multi-billion pound business has enough interest to read it. If Aguerd leaves, that brings the net right down, Downes too. My stratergy from this point on would be sell Aguerd for cash, sell Downes for cash. Go and get cheap cover at RB and throw your resources at a CF and LWer.

Hmm.. I'm not sure what to think. That's neither negative nor positive. I heard the link and my initial reaction was 'no' because of his time at Palace. Then I look at who he was playing with at Palace and it moves the barometer to a bit more of a positive direction. Then you take into account his goal record last season and you start to feel more positive. Then you hear he scored 4 against Madrid, it's also positive. Then you see the side Madrid fielded in that game, it gives it a bit more perspective. I'm not sure. He's 6'5, Strong, Pretty Mobile and he seems to make good decisions in terms of finishing. Toney has the feel about him to be fair. He's not going to offer constant runs in behind, either. Hence my LOVE for Michail Antonio. Rarely will you find someone who offers both (Hold up play and runs in behind). I'm undecided on Sorloth. HAVE to get that signing right. Need a left winger as well. I'd rather wait for the right striker than rush towards the wrong one. Antonio He still has alot to offer this side, despite what people think. I said this on another video, we can not afford for the next CF to be brought in to be left in the ever-growing scrap heap of failed strikers because MA outperforms them. This is not a 'NO' on Sorloth, but any CF brought in needs to be A*. Conte said it; "You can pick the wrong wife but you can't pick the wrong CF" Just hope everyone involved has done every bit of homework possible.

He looks an extremely good focal point, I can't lie. He has the ability to just turn and run towards goal, and has players bouncing off him at times. You NEEED to play towards that though. Need to be willing to go direct at stages. Especially in transition. If it's Tippa Tappa all the time, you won't see that asset from his game and he just becomes a basic target man. I hope we are diverse in the way we play next season. Still desperately need an inverted LWer. Have we left ourselves short when it comes to the genuine needs of the side because of the Guilhermes signing? Only time will tell.

We cant rely on Antonio as 1st choice again, we need somebody who has pace and power who can not only finish but can also run the channels as well as hold up play ...someone who will come in and provide competition for the starting place right away ....experienced but young enough to be worth the 0rice tag

A lot of people have been talking about Antonio’s replacement but I think that has to wait till next season. Antonio is our record goalscorer and clearly knows how to get goals for West Ham despite his faults. Unless he wants to leave, which I don’t think is the case, I think his experience and character can only help the team both on and off the pitch, at least for one last year.

Terrible striker. Absolutely not suited to the pace or intensity of the English game. He couldn’t even cut it in a league a step down (in terms of pace & intensity) at RB Leipzig & needed to move to a slow pace league like Spain to find his pace/level. He’s also too old & expensive to be taking a chance on. Atleast Toney, who would cos similar & is a similar age, had Prem experience which reduces the risk.
