The players will have had it easy this week so a double session on Thursday will not be a problem. Friday ,Flip board presentation and talking tactics,these are all internationals so they have much more of an idea than our previous teams.

Lose or win, there is definitely a lift and a buzz to the fans that a new manager is in charge. Early days but we all bounce with a new manager bounce.

Aston Villa was coasting into this game but will be approaching it differently now. And that slight doubt in their minds, may well work in our flavour! We (in a way) have absolutely nothing to lose. We come into this game as the underdogs, out of form and with a new looking face floating about in the dressing room. But the fans can feel something tingling & maybe the players are feeling it too. The team would of been setup at the start of the week, cant see many changes made by Potter.

Alvarez is too slow for any premiership midfield and a real weak link holding us back. We need legs and pace to compete in this league so I hope Alvarez is moved on in January so we can address the first of our many achilles heels.

My only disappointment is Bowen missing, not only the player but the captain. Presumably Soucek will remain captain and IMO it will me a massive job for this game for him to be the leader because there is going to be an element of the players having to get on and figure things out for themselves and it's a wonderful opportunity for them to express themselves without any shackles
