NGL, this guy was the highlight of Deltatraveler for me. GGunderfell Sans is pretty much the case scenario Flowey told us after sparing Toriel in OG Undertale. "What if you come across a relentless killer?" I made the decision to show Sans mercy by putting him to sleep, but after showing mercy to this objectively irredeemable creature I wondered if I even made the right decision. For the first time in an Undertale pacifist route I felt like I overstepped my boundaries and enforced a perspective none of the characters shared. I technically did the right thing, and for what? Sooner or later that same irredeemable creature would wake up and continue his reign of terror. I've never seen this kind of moral dilemma explored in Undertale, or even Deltarune! As much as this project has started out as a meme, It's no joke.

Undertale DID tackle that kind of moral dilemma, though. At the end of a Neutral run (which includes a first-time Pacifist run since you can't get True Pacifist without doing the Neutral stuff first), Flowey makes it clear he'll continue his terror if spared. It's not quite as bad there since that's the end of the run (so inevitably whatever decision you make will immediately be undone), but still, Undertale did at least try to pose a "will you spare someone that is 100% evil?" question.

“GIVE ME YOUR SOUL!” “I WON’T BE DENIED AGAIN” What I like about this Sans is he seems to have a lot opposites of the Sans we know especially his morality. Sans is the judge and judges your sins and how much capacity you have for violence, he is chill, down to earth, and really cares about his bro. This Sans doesn’t care about any of that due to the “Kill or be killed” ideologies in the Underfell au I guess Sans seems to be really influenced by it because this version of Sans is actually kinda messed up and unhinged, he’s malicious, cold, and insane. It seems like he shows no remorse when taking a life in the Underfell series he attacks Frisk and Flowey multiple times throughout Snowdin, he almost killed his brother with a flurry of bones, and now in the new area for Deltatraveler he killed a damn orphan for what, it’d be ironic if he still has the judge role when he himself has become the sinner and executioner, he's a predator that likes to torment and ambush his prey. So yeah this Sans is messed up and seems to be quite the opposite of Sans even having more than 1 hp, but what I like is that he still keeps a lot of aspects from Canon Undertale Sans which is nice, he might be one of the only “crazy sanses” that I find alright. Even worse is that poor Papyrus is stuck with him, and Papyrus’s murderous behavior is all stemming from Sans. Like I know he was dangerous in gg! Underfell but now he is just nuts lol. Edit: Genocide spoilers his death is really brutal, but he kinda had it coming pretty much.

It's refereshing to have a rendition of Underfell that isn't 'omg so edgy' but actually goes with the idea of 'what if Undertale but they're way more inclined to just kill you and not bother asking questions'. It has you genuinely questioning if you choosing Mercy is even the right thing to do here; unlike the King from Deltarune who at least cared about his son and subjects, there's literally no redeeming qualities to Sans in this world. Fan fact: if in obliteration route you use red buster on any encounter, you will instantly die. If you use red buster on sans, everyone except kris will we downed and kris will be left with 1 hp. But if you use red buster on sleeping sans, it will be insta-kill all your party including Kris

This was the best part of section 3 ngl it’s just so good, the fight is super fun, the song is great and it fits well into the story, meeting someone that you CANT reason with, no matter what, it’s kinda like the line Flowey had of meeting someone who won’t hesitate to kill you which never got followed through on in undertale It’s really a shame they retconned it in the update because “oh no what if people don’t like that evil sans is acting evil and mean no we have to change it so he never actually killed his universe’s susie he’s just a misunderstood good guy!!!” Because it used to be such a great segment, don’t get me wrong it’s still good but now that it’s been completely disjointed from the theme of section 3 so sans could be nice it’s by far not the best part of it anymore

My theory for Section 3: Sans is the final boss regardless of route, however in Obliteration, Kris fights alone. Both fights will involve Sans almost killing Kris, but being saved at the last second by Susie. In addition, after the Normal Route fight, Kris will reveal his eye, showing him opening up more to Susie and Noelle. His eye will still remain shrouded in Obliteration. Susie will also act resentful towards Kris after Obliteration, with Noelle leaving the party for good.
