A problem I have with a lot of blender tutorials is that when it comes to shader nodes it goes like this: Instructor: "Do this thing!" Me: "Why?" Instructor: "Then make one of these and connect it to that!" Me: "Why?!" Instructor: "Then make one of these and set it to this!" Me: "WHY!?!" Instructor: "Next connect this, this, and this!" Me: "WHY!?!? TELL ME WHY I'M DOING THIS! TELL ME WHICH NODE HAS WHICH EFFECT! I CAN ABSORB INFORMATION BETTER IF I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT I'M DOING AND NOT JUST FOLLOWING A STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL!!!"
