Thank you for your help. 8.5”x4.5” sounds more like it. Although when you read her description under the video it does say (2) 8.5x42.

Thanks for sharing this great idea, but I am a bit confused on how to get the measurement on the upper right-side, the circled ruler that you have doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all. Is there another way to try & get the correct measurements, I am wondering on how come you didn't measure from the corners..

You mentioned aboit using two different coloured thread. How does this work? Is it one colour used in the bobbin and the neutral one is on the machine?
@isabelfulton7893

I see one color in bobbin and another in needle.. so top has one color and other side different color
@CVQuiltworks

The bobbin is the same color as the top. I used one color to piece the case and then changed both the bobbin and the top thread out to the color I wanted to use for top stitching.

I enjoyed this video but I’m confused. You say to cut an 8x8 in square and your paper template is written 8x8 but you refer to twice at the beginning to starting with an “ eight and a half inch nah square”. I’m assuming you mean 8x8 not 8.5x8.5. Thank you.

Generally you will get your fabric cut in 1/4 yard or 1/2 yard pieces, which are 42" wide. Therefore that would be your jumping off point always. Then you cut it down. I hope that makes sense.
