It probably wouldn't be abrasive enough to take paint off wood. I tried on carbon fiber and it did it but took way more ice than I would ever feel comfortable charging for.

Thanks for the videos! Question for you - Are you recoating the underside after blasting with some sort of sealant? Could be an upsell if not, I'm sure not too much salt your way. What's your air setup for the mobile setup if you don't mind sharing? Are you able to do any kind of pellet sizing with the SM2000?

No recoating, pretty dry here with no salts in nm, be a hard sell because of that. Sadly no pellets sizing choices for this one, but the feedback on that has been passed on to them for version 3. Mobile I usually rent a 100cfm trailer from united rental, amd just charge for that premium.

@@Officer_Dan Thanks, Dan! Trailers do seem like a solid option. They're cost comparable to a shop unit, cheaper even from what I can tell since so many low hour ones are for sale, albeit higher operating costs but higher resale too. Happy blastin'!

Great info and nice to see actual use of the machine. You mention wanting to upgrade your compressor, have you tried renting a diesel rotary compressor to see if the added cfm is worth it? The Santimax is only rated at 1.32lbs of dry ice p/min whereas something like a ColdJet PCS 60 that has the same cfm rating is rated at 4.0 lbs/min. Hate to see you spend the money and effort getting a bigger compressor then not see a change. I'm in the market and wondering if I'm better off spending my money on a nice air compressor or a nice blaster.

This seems like are really nice little business. Are you finding that the calls are primarily automotive undercarriage or are you getting industrial work now as well? The results of dry ice blasting are pretty darn amazing.

Mostly parts, engines diffs, and transmissions, few undercarriages, nothing industrial yet.

Can you tell me what size the NPT connections are on the front of the SM2000?

Hello Dan, I reached out to Sanitmax and they recommended a compressor that can generate over 120 PSI and 35-145 CFM airflow. I started looking for one of them and and the sticker shock of a screw type set in. What kind of psi/cfm are you getting with the carlisles?

I am at a solid 60 at 100psi, it's about the bare minimum but now that I've made enough to upgrade that's next on the list

Looking to buy the SM2000, do u have any recommendations for a compressor based on affordability and proper capacity and CFM? I’ve looked at some ingersall and some eMaxx brand. Everything 35cfm and up is roughly $4000-6000. Any compressors worthy that are cheaper?

Old air compressors are the best way to go if your looking for cfm for a good price I picked up a 120 gallon IR for 200$ and everything was still there for it converting it to gas now
