One of the best videos on how to do this job. Actually disengaging clip locks instead of just pulling and tugging at things. Had troubles removing the spool until I watched this. the upper clip wouldn't release without a screw driver depressing the tang.

Just installed a new clock spring in my 2008 Acura TL Type S, thank to your video. Big Tip: Leave the lower dash panel in place to make it even easier (I saw it in another video). You just have to move the steering column lever around while dropping the left side of the cowling and freeing the lever.

@@EyeOnAiman Would you happen to know the name of the white part that connects behind the clockspring? It was connected to my old one and I mistakenly burned it.

Great video. Straight to the point. My horn and controls on the steering wheel haven't worked since I got my car 80k miles ago lol. I just never really cared. Got the car with 72k miles and now has 155k miles. Figured I'll replace the clock spring before I sell It. Hopefully I don't need to also replace the cruise control or volume buttons. Do you by any chance have the part number?

Excellent job on video. Great commentary and visual. Well done and thank you. One question; does it matter if the steering wheel is perfectly straight? I noticed you had it turned when working on it for convenience. I have a 98 accord EXV6 and need to change clock spring as when I turn the wheel at a certain point media adjustments and horn don't work. Either side of that point its no problem. But these days I seem to need a horn at every point. LOL! Design component seems to be the same for my year as your year. Always a little paranoid that the air bag will go off unexpectedly. You make me feel a little more confident that it won't. Why they call it a clock spring I will never know. Has nothing to do with a clock. Thanks again

I know I'm two years too late but for anyone else wondering you just have to give it a strong push forward after separating it from the other yellow connector.

You're taking things apart well enough but I swear you're driving me insane with your pronunciation of "finagle". The A is pronounced like Ape, not Apple. fin NAY gul -not- fin AG gul Every single video I've watched has this distraction, this one more than most.
@EyeOnAiman3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and the constructive criticism. I will work more on my pronunciation of the word "finagle". Here's a video I can use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e160g4CtlpqhrMU
