One of the best songs to come out of the '80s and definitely the best song on the Valley Girl soundtrack!!

Always,ALWAYS loved this song......and only 39 years later do I now understand all the lyrics!! This song is TIMELESS. Almost an anthem really. My favorite song from this exceptional band.

It's an absolute crime that these guys never made it big.

... outside of Canada, anyway! They should have stormed the UK as the 'sound' was quite similar at the time

Didn't sell their souls that's nthe difference. They staunch real talent, and let no talented, soul sellers go to the top. This is CALLED the music industry.

Thats the only song, you don’t make it big when you only have one good song

Bob Rock certainly "made it big". But, yes, Payola$ were exceptional and deserved better. 👍✌

It took me back to a time that was very rough for me.... A cheating wife in a sea of women hitting on me. And yet, I loved only that one, the mother of our children. This one song brought me to tears back then because it was so very real to me. How can someone spend 13 YEARS with a person they consider their "soul mate", only to find out that they're a total STRANGER? The heart still hurts to this day --- Some 35 years after the betrayal!! God, please forgive her.

despite a large amount of success in their Native Canada they simply never broke into the international marketplace.. Similar to the Tragically Hip.... Tragic really!

Why does it say "Can I touch you to see if you're real?" and then he goes on saying "'cause in nothing there's something I feel" when he clearly say "'cause in nothing there's something real" ???
@matthewkinzinger29765 жыл бұрын
Got the lyrics from google. Also if you listen closely, it does say "I feel" instead of "real"
