SO happy for Naree! She has done FABULOUSLY!!! And sweet Toprish, it's taken her a bit longer but she is getting there bless her sweet heart!!I really have to admire (and it gives me tears) all of the carers that hand raise the wee tiny babies that are born. I cannot begin to imagine the stress and the toll it takes upon them to care for them from near birth until they are weaned 24/7. God bless each and every one of them and the wee babes they care for as well as the grown ones. Awe, Lucky is just perfect for Hujan! What a sweet pairing!!

Alison is so matter of fact in her honesty about the care and attention required of this (and any wild infant). A daunting task but if anyone is up for the challenge it's the staff at Monkey World. Continued strength in your endeavors to nurture this loris. Naree. Is beautiful beyond words. No wonder Alison was so obsessed in some ways with this chimp. She's brilliant and soulful. I'm so happy for Toprish, holding her own. She's a winner. I absolutely LOVE when the older Orang's wait and encourage the younger ones, it's such a delightful character trait. To see Lucky let Hujan just hold on (for dear life) is so endearing. Monkey World - Your primate care staff are First Rate. Just outstanding. Thank you.

I'm new to Monkey World, and have a question. Are the animals sterilized when they are rescued, or are they allowed to reproduce?
@TedH71 Жыл бұрын
From what I've seen the males typically are separated into their own bachelor group but I've also seen females with males. So that's a good question. I did see an episode where they said they give the females (all the animals) birth control of some type.

I wonder with the slow loris if there's something wrong with the mom herself, or if it's a problem of captivity that leads her to not care for them, or if its the babies themselves that just lack a good rooting and suckling instinct? There are species that just have very high mortality rates naturally. I'm just very curious what the answer is.
