spot on, apparently what they did in the 60's & 70's doesnt need to be updated, i was excited when korg did nutube and that didnt sound too bad (i have a vox mv50 ac and it sounds pretty damn good. but these amp1 and this ampX is next level

Personally I overlooked his work out of sheer vanity. I wanted the good looks with wood and tweed and all… aaaand his amps are… very 2000-y (to be polite). But then I listened to couple interviews and realized the amp1 was one of the smartest amp ever made.

I already have the mercury, it´s wonderful, also bougth the blubox, now I record killer guitar tracks without mics, or vst emulations. Now I´m waiting for this Amp x, to play live. Thank you Thomas, you are a genius.

I am very stoked. This seems to be like a fusion between the Kemper and Synergy approach. I mean, basically, he perhaps has chipsets triggering resistor and capacitor arrays based on the programming. Very interested in this product - hopefully this will not blow all budgets up!

I did my first gig with amp1. Awesome sound. As good as JCM800 with good old H&K Tubeman II. What a punchy crunch and nice cleans. Sparkling and powerful. The Vintage channel was all I ever needed in gain. My only concern is it might brake. I'm excited for ampX. Could replace my pedal board except sfx. ThanX Thomas.

The BluGuitar stuff is awesome. I have been using it for 3 years and I personally think it is better than Helix, Axe-FX, etc. I wouldn't personally say "it sounds exactly like a Marshall" or whatever, but I think it rides that line better than the wholly digital devices and to me feels better to play. It definitely has a solid state sound to it, but it feels like it is a new push in that direction that has unlocked a decent share of the special sauce we like from tube amps with a convenient and tamed design.

Marco Saller ... the AMPX will be also a great studio amp for bass, but not powerful enough for live. I believe bass needs headroom... 400 Watts or more (at least I’m my world) sorry, but I’m not doing bass specialized gear. BluGuitar is a small company that focuses on electric guitar ...

I loved it!! Thomas hsa to be the ost underrated guy in the business. He's such a genius and humble fella. Unfortunately, I could never get an AMP1 for myself but I have a few of his signature pedals and I have to say: if he could make these tones with cost-effective chinese-produced pedals....he can do anything. One big question pops into my head: Thomas, why don't you put the FX processor on a module? Isn't this the only fast-aging part of the amplifier? If some groundbreaking effect really comes around, you then can always get more processing power, even ten years down the line. This way, the amp really would stay up to date for decades to come.

@@EytschPi42 As a Robert Smith fan and He-Man movie anticipator, I was taught patience, the long and strong way. No hurry, I'm happy of how he's pushing the narrative of rethinking gear. On a side note, speculatively speaking, with the current hype of analog pedal clones and poly-pedals (like RatPack, Mouffaletta), it might be tempting to integrate all big classic gain pedals (Rat, Muff, BluesBreaker, Klon, Fuzzes, graphEQ, paramEQ) into the analogue features. (Maybe you could make the hardware more flexible with extension slots for small pedal circuit cards. Not sure if that's a good product idea. What if those internal mini pedal cards where lincensed by the makers of those classic pedals?)
