You can just hear more of the natural dynamic bite from that - the pink Diamond sounds a little more rounder to my ear with less of the definition and clarity. My guitar's original color was pink. I got it because it was a lot cheaper than the other colors of the same model - nobody wanted to buy it, so they put a big discount on it eventually. I obviously painted it black, because the 18-year old me obviously wanted a black guitar like the ones his guitar idol played. These days, I kinda regret doing that. I had no idea that years later, I would become someone who would greatly enjoy being someone who plays a pink guitar :D I would consider refinishing it back to its original tbh, but the body is generally in a pretty bad shape, so probably not worth it. So yeah, definitely get the pink one if you're buying it :)

I bought the Diamond Series model and it plays perfectly. I changed all the electronics and threw in a Duncan Custom in the bridge and a Little 59 in the neck and Duckbucker in the middle and added coil splitting. Bought the guitar as a new demo (saved a bit) and even with the electronics I wasn't over $1500 total into the guitar and have exactly what I wanted. To be fair I do this often as Schecter makes such great playing guitars and the only thing that is really missing in lower models are proper electronics (wiring, jacks, pups, pots, etc). I would put this guitar up against any $3k guitar and I have a custom built Suhr (5k) and a custom built Warmoth (3k) and I 100% play this guitar more. Also from Shecter I have the PT Pro, C-1 FR-S SLS Elite and the Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic (put Duncan JB and 59 in it). They are just making really good stuff these days. Schecter from my experience has good QC as most guitars are just ready to go out of the box. Great video! Fun to watch!

@@sasmitha8446 it doesnt feel anything like a C-shape Fender. The schecter neck is thinner, but because of the flatter radius and wide fretboard it doesnt feel thinner or smaller compared to the Fender C neck.
@TrippyTheShroom3 жыл бұрын
@@sasmitha8446 I know I'm 8 months late to this comment, but what Danny Cia said its pretty spot on. I still own the guitar and the neck has actually somewhat grown on me. It's a thin neck that feels very wide at the 12th fret. The size of my fingers makes cowboy chords a bit of an annoyance because it feels like the nut size is smaller than what I'm used to but from 5th fret up it widens out and flattens out and becomes much easier to play. The closest thing to it I've tried is an Ibanez or a very thin Jackson, the neck isn't chunky at all. I'm actually about to buy a USA Schecter having played this one as one of my main 3 guitars for the past 5 or so months. The Schecter just has a tone to it that I've never really experienced out of most other guitars and I just have to assume that boils down to the pickups. They really emphasize the pick attack so the guitar has a pop to it that mellows out into a really smooth tone. It's somewhat difficult to explain without feeling it. The best thing I could recommend is listen to Nick Johnstons solo in Remarkably Human and his tone once the solo kicks in is almost to a tee what this guitar sounds like when driven. Its a very, very front forward aggression that becomes smooth, which is a neat and usable tone.

Bought a diamond series HSS about a year ago and was considering returning it at first as neck felt so different to a strat (the x-jumbo frets also take getting used to if you’ve never played on them). But the neck has definitely grown on me over time, and the sound/tone of the guitar is excellent!

I have found similar differences between budget vs custom models. My D'Angelico premier Bob Weir had cheap hardware (lesser than squier quality for sure, for $999 no less) compared to the Deluxe model; and cheaper simulations of the pickups of the more expensive model. Things like cheaper bridge, screws that strip out etc, especially tuner quality as shown here. Also workmanship is a big component, sloppy wiring, cheap paint etc. I believe some makers are better than others in this regard though.

One thing I couldn’t find online anywhere or in a review. The custom shop is a nitro finish so it will age/relic over time. Is the diamond series nitro or is it a poly?

I would assume poly

I think the Nick johnston models look great. Especially the import models for the money. I guess I'd still prefer the SSS versions though.

@@Rouwiinator yeah I feel you on that. I have a fender Strat sss and the Nick johnston hss. Just so I can have both. I just like how it has a coil split so I can have both sounds instead of limited to the Humbucker sound.

Have both, The '21 Ibanez AZ satisfied me immensely, love the SS frets, beautiful tone, plays like butter. Later got a new '22 Schecter USA NJ Custom Shop SSS, Wenge Neck is otherworldly, sustains forever, best S style guitar I've ever played, tones/harmonics etc are ethereal, whole different level of craftsmanship.

Mine was shit, unfortunately. I'm waiting for my return authorization as we speak. Maybe I just got a lemon but 🤷 this is my second schecter import with a fucked up neck. One of them was the Apocalypse, luckily I liked that guitar enough to get a replacement from them, which is an excellent guitar that I love. This one has some sort of back bow right at the 1-3 fret area. Not fixable with truss rod adjustments ⚰️ the apocalypse had a twisted neck, I could get it right one the treble side of the neck, but the bass side would have way too much relief. Oh well. Shit happens with "lower" end guitars, I suppose.
@flyingmanforfun3 жыл бұрын
That sucks, did you get one of the newer Apocalypse? The newer ones are made in Indonesia nowadays compared to the older ones that was made in Korea. I own a Korean Apocalypse and it is incredible, fretwork putting my 2k+ Ibanez Prestige’s to shame.

Mine somewhat has that bow I believe. Got a truss rod adj and I’m good

@@Bedroomrips mine's not 😟 I've tried and tried and tried. No matter what, it buzzes on the lower frets. And I'm checking with machined straight edges. It's for sure messed up. I was confident the Apocalypse was messed up, I sent it back to Schecter and they said "We have found the neck to be unacceptable." So I'm confident there is something wrong with this one as well. Bummer. 😕 That's 2 out of 3 Schecter guitars I have owned that have been structurally flawed.
@dimerocks1233 жыл бұрын
@@flyingmanforfun mine is "crafted" in South Korea. I want to love Schecter because the Apocalypse I have now is absolutely amazing. Flawless. But their track record isn't very good in my experience lol.
