Why is there so much hate for this guitar? It's not a Charvel. It's not a Jackson. It's a Schecter. Schecter is going to build a Schecter. 24 frets. EMG's. Modern neck heel. This is a lot of guitar for the coin. I like it. And I have a Charvel also which i also love.

To tell you the truth, the sun valley super shredder is the first schecter that I actually was wowed by when trying it, it just felt right. I've only felt that way with a few guitars so far.... a prs that costed more than my car at the time, a musicman jp 6, an old 80s Ibanez rg 550, and of all things a prs se standard 24 ( I was floored at how at home I felt with such a relatively "inexpensive" guitar) If I had my way I would buy that super shredder in a heart beat.

Great discription of each guitar. To dead honest with you, man! You have definitely changed the game by given the multiple tones while exampling the same thing with all the other models, versions, and manufacturers!! I am seriously aiming so this exact schecter, now! I have watched many of reviews on this guitar. Yours, by far, exceeds all others. Amazing vlog and demonstrates with each in clean tone/distortion and etc as well as giving us a taste of it metal riffing combined with the slow, yet sweet speed/ sweep picking sounds it provides. Again, amazing work pal, keep it up. Cuz you sure as hell have me sold on buying one!!! 💯 %

Just picked up the SeaFoam Turquoise one for a third the RRP secondhand (in Australia). No-one really mentions a main point for me, which is the 41mm neck at nut. I'm used to narrow necks, and all Charvels and most Ibanez have 43, so I've been waiting for this. What I have noticed is the body is thinner than usual, compensated slightly by the Mahogany, although Chinese Mahogany is not the same as you'll find in a Gibson. Initially I didn't really like the pickups, I like low output so you can add to it. I like PAF types, and I'm used to Seymour Duncan Custom '78 in an Ash Body and Maple neck (no floyd rose, hence this purchase to be able to play without going out of tune). However I found with the Actives, you can turn the volume down and it doesn't really affect the tone. It just lowers the volume! So you can turn it down and get a more vintage output. It especially works well on the neck pickup, sounds a lot nicer turned down. Maybe this is why they put two volumes on there, so you can leave them where it sounds best. I've been toying with the idea of swapping the neck pickup, which is alnico, with the ceramic bridge pickup, just to see if I get a nicer Eddie type tone. Also, the Actives make your pedals play nicer together. I had a Sparkle Drive, DOD250 and Boss SD1 all stacked, and doing it nicely. Also, the buffered Boss pedals no longer make a difference to your tone, because it's already buffered. Interesting stuff, still playing around with it. I'd like if EMG came out with interchangeable preamps on the bottom of the pickups so we could play around with it.

@@WoodsyGuitars Ok yeah, just note the neck is probably 1.650" wide, which is 42mm, but the nut I think is R1 which is 41. So the nut is smaller than the neck. So the strings are closer together but there is more wood hanging out on the edge because it's actually not a 41mm neck. Hope this helps.

This was great, especially since I already have a Charvel San Dimas. I was really interested to hear the tonal differences between the EMG's and SD's. BTW, I also string my Floyd-equipped guitars with the ball ends at the headstock.

Just played it thru a katana today, I would buy it for the looks! The only complaint is that it is HEAVY! My MIM Strat feels a lot lighter. If you want a shredder, it's fun to play. i had a jackson Dinky and theSchecter sounded better, maybe due to the active PU's? I really like the Sea Foam color. but prefer no pick guard for a shredder! It was $575 where Charvel is $900. It's more Torquoise. Also, I loved the neck feel, shallow C and fast and maple! Lastly, the tone is great for metal, but a Strat has better clean tones and single coil range. My Powerhouse has active 12db boost PU...so I guess I am a fan of active PU's over the years.

I purchased a Sun Valley in Lambo orange..When I unboxed it, there was so much tension on the Floyd Rose that the Right post had broken thru the body...sent it back..so much for a 55 point inspection and set up. The guitar was so tight it felt like it would fold in half..I did not ask for a replacement..that was my experience with the Sun Valley..I got a 🍋..was supposed to be Lambo orange. Anyone else have this happen? I was quite disappointed after watching Pixxy Lixx and Tone King swear on these guitars..Did they get special treatment?
@Bigtubes7 жыл бұрын
I just received a Lambo orange one that looks to have the right post slightly pulled out of the body. High action and the Floyd rose is unusable as its wedged up into the wood and pick guard. I bought it as a demo from Sweetwater. It arrived in tune so it didn't slip during shipping. Right? so much for the 55 point inspection.
@guitardudeguy31397 жыл бұрын
Robbie yep, I think there is a design flaw or something didn't get set up right . The tension on mine was so tight , I thought the guitar was going to fold in half..anyway the right post gave way, and the bridge went right into the pick guard..I sent it back..I ended up getting a used PRS and am really happy with that. I was told that others have had the same problem..maybe Sweetwater doesn't know how to set up a Floyd? Or they are coming out of the factory like that..I like Schecter guitars, but they missed with this model..nothing like the Charvels. Did you send yours back? I have pictures of my debaucle..good luck in the future.
@Training_With_Pepper7 жыл бұрын
I live near Sweetwater and I've played some pretty atrocious Floyd's there. While it's completely possible your issues came from the factory, I know for a fact some of Sweetwater's techs don't know what they're doing. Recently, I played an Ibanez Premium Kiko Signature and it wasn't set up or innotated (at all!!!), so I asked one of the associates there if they would set the guitar up properly and he said no. I was like ok there's no way I'm paying $1400 for a guitar that's screwed up. I wrote my rep and their customer service a letter about that one lol. Unfortunately, they seem to have better stock (of course) than Guitar Center down the road, so I guess I'm stuck going there... But seriously, I probably played close to 15 Floyd guitars at Sweetwater in the last month and only one was set up and stayed in tune. These were $1000-$3000 guitars! Ibanez Prestige, EGEN, ESP, Jackson, etc. I think the 55 point inspection is really someone spending 55 seconds looking at the paint job haha
@guitardudeguy31397 жыл бұрын
usp924 From what I'm hearing now is the Floyd Rose new models just suck, unless you get an old one or the High dollar one..I know how to set them up , but when the posts are broke thru the body there's nothing I can do with it. I might try a Music Man in the future, I played one the other day...it was ridiculously good! Lots of doe though..The old Floyd's are the best though..not these new "designed" from China crap .

I have no reason to believe it is in any way an inferior way to construct a functional instrument. Its just aesthetically displeasing to have the same wood glued on top when it could easily be one piece.
@markushanifan96486 жыл бұрын
It's because the truss rod is front loaded. One piece maple necks have to be loaded from the rear and then a strip of wood (usually rosewood) is set in over the trussrod. Front loading probably allows them to thin the neck with less chance of filing through the trussrod channel.
