2022 here. I'm searching everywhere trying to find something like this nowadays anybody have any advice? Want to be able to plug my external hard drives into the network instead of having to run my computer to show the drives or have to move the drives around all the time

Alex thanks for bringing to light a money saving device! Excellent video. Thank you for NOT playing any background music like some folks do. I have a request. Can this device be accessed remotely over the internet? I would like to have this device at a remote location, like my Mom's house. So I can have not only backup copies, but DR. Can you post a video on how to configure remote access for backups using this device? Thanks in advance!

@zanuha I don't agree (obviously) since I made the video.. I didn't even know these existed a few weeks ago. We have a few USB backup drives, which we can now convert to NAS. So thought it was worth sharing.. we'll see what other viewers say, if everyone agrees with you we'll keep our computer info to ourselves

I bought this after reviewing this video. I have spent the last 3-4hrs trying to set this thing up. After reading the review on newegg and amazon, doesn't look like a promising device. Running windows 7. You supposedly have to format the hard drive with the website provided for it to be usable... defeats the entire purpose...

Hi but the harddrive is always on ? Because if yes its very bad when harddrive doesn't turn off 24/7 . Or have something like sleep mode when is not in operation ?
