Step into a world of adventure and breathtaking natural beauty as you join me on an epic winter solo canoe trip down the stunning River Wye. Over two nights of wild camping, we'll paddle more than 50 miles (80+ km) from Glasbury to Hoarwithy, using just a tarp for shelter and fire for cooking and water purification.
This is a journey like no other, where we'll encounter an abundance of wildlife, from majestic kingfishers to graceful swans, and witness the true power and tranquility of nature. The soothing sounds of flowing water, crackling fire, and gentle breezes will be our constant companions as we navigate the thrilling rapids and tranquil stretches of this iconic river.
Get ready for an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling alive and connected to the natural world. Don't miss out on this opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in the beauty of the British countryside.
Hope you enjoy the adventure as much as I enjoyed making it, thanks for watching as always and remember to get out there and have some fun!

I second what others have said. Some of the best videos, showing truth about the ups and downs is so important. It is the part that makes it feel like surviving when we overcome challenge and get so much satisfaction from overcoming it. To edit them out would be to remove such an important part. Plus it helps others feel more confident to try because perfection is not all they have seen demonstrated.
@EzeAdventurer

I appreciate that and agree! It’s totally my intention to do just that. Show how regular people like me can take on more and more challenges and ispire others to get out. I’ll continue to show my mistakes!!! Thanks !!!

@@EzeAdventurer dead easy mate .. put the nearly empty "donor" can in a warm place, say airing cupboard, and the receiving one in the freezer. You want a good temp difference. If I remember correctly the valve has an arrow so connect them up correctly then open the valve and you will hear the gas transfer. I had to do it a couple of times for each one I wanted to empty but it works for sure.

Really enjoyed this, thank you. I haven't say though drinking water from the Wye is not a good idea unless you are up in the mountains near the source. The greatest concentration of chicken farms in the UK is in that area, boiling the water won't deal with some of the contaminants coming into the river.

I'm a bit late coming to this but sad to say I too have come across a cormorant with fishing gear attached to it's beak - on Ullswater. Similarly - wouldn't let me approach it... probably just as well as they have big beaks that probably don't mix well with fingers... however well intentioned. Keep up the great blogging, it must take ages to sift through the material and put it all together. Liked. Subscribed 🙂

So sad isn't it mate... and a lot of the fishermen give the canoeist stick for "upsetting" the environment. I love fishing too, need to respect each other. Great looking trip, whenever I find footballs or tennis balls in the river I throw them up onto the bank or footpath hoping someone finds them.

@@EzeAdventurer another thought for your camp set up and it’s something I’ve done and that’s instead of where you had your logs weighing down the tarp you use the canoe, two sticks to prop the canoe on its side then pull the tarp up over the canoe to your poles/paddles.

@@martinoutdoors6941 YES mate thanks for the tips. I considered this but then I was struggling to pin the front guy lines, wrapped around the paddles. There were no big rocks etc. How would you have done that bit?

You should have put the tarp over the broken tree and clend the bottom of it away would have been better

I don't get it, why do people go on these great trips and then just want too hurry up and go, rush, rush, rush, slow down and enjoy the beautiful place your at, because like me one accident and you can't go back there ever again...

Hey there mate I share your sentiment, it's definitely about taking your time. Did you feel I was rushing this? Personally, I could only get away for 3 days as had to go back to the family, and I need to get in shape in terms of covering longer distances in a day, as I take on larger / longer expeditions. So the purpose of the trip was to cover quite a bit of distance. I do agree though, it's easy to get caught in the "miles" and leave the true experience behind. For me, this was a good balance, really enjoyed it. Thanks for coming along mate

I see you ignored my comment hahaha. It is all real. All real. That is what I do. I am not a 2 or 3 days adventure man. I'm a month or two or three expedition man. It's why avoid winter trips as a month out in the winter isn't fun by anyone's standards. I have literally everything special forces use to stay out in the wilderness for a long time in 3 seasons. I've a ex-forces brother who has vast experience in a lot of things adventure who taught me to go hardcore. We do it the proper way. Like The Baird Brothers. Only we don't have to worry about Grizzlies haha. Check your inbox for evidence of the NV. It's all real. It is exactly what I do. I kayak the oceans, rivers, and lakes at night - and I love it. Try it, you will too.

Sorry dude wasn't ignoring comment just didn't get round to read/reply. That's the way mate, I'd love to adventure / experience in months not days but with family life this is the best I can do, and I'm grateful for it. I have enough gear for now and enough day time adventures for now haha but maybe one day I'll turn to the dark side :-)

@@EzeAdventurer “If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.” ― Charles Bukowski (I'm out on my long adventure, found this is one of his great books and it said it all haha, loving it!)
