After searching and getting nowhere, this video saved me. Ended up being bad connection from blue wire on solenoid. Unplugged it to test it and had power and when I hooked it back up and went to test both small posts on solenoid I hit pedal and it started right up. Thanks a lot

On 3:15, i did not get voltage from the blue wire after holding the pedal down and turning it off. The 12v never came back on. Is that the pedal switch that’s bad?

Also, I tested my starter and I get 12v but it doesn’t turn. I get 12v on my solenoid, then hit the pedal and get 12v on the other side. I get 12 from the blue wire, I keep my foot on the pedal and turn key off and get nothing. Then I put both probes on the small solenoid posts and get nothing.

If you get 12 volts on the starter. You have a bad set of starter brushes. On my page I have a video on how to test the starter with jumper cables. Watch that and see what you get. And let me know

You’re the man. Turns out when I was testing my starter I was getting 12v with the prob on the battery negative, but when I put it on the starter ground, I would get zero…. So needless to say my terminals weren’t getting enough contact. I brushed them up and boom. Thank you sir! I learn so much and enjoy the videos.

If you jump the 2 big post on the solenoid. See the cart turn over. Have you checked voltage on starter. If. Or let me know and I’ll share a link that I have on how to test the starter

I am able to jump the solnoid and here a click but after that nothings happens. I am not getting any voltage on the blue or green wire. I checked the continuity on the switch for the pedal and the ignition switch and both are good. What steps should I take next?

What year is your golf cart. Have you checked the fuse beside the solenoid

If the fuse is good. What does the red wire show as far as voltage going to the accelerator microswitch. You should get no key in the green or blue until you hit the gas with the key on

@@Dayfire010 k do this here unplug the green wire from the harness behind the solenoid. And run you a wire from the main positive to the green wire the side that goes to the key switch and see if it cranks up when you turn the key on

@@MatthewSerafino black lead on main negative and the red lead of your meter on both of the big post on solenoid. Check one big post at a time. Let me know what they show. Turn key on in neutral and hit gas

Yes the blue wire comes from the microswitch in floorboard and then the keyswitch. On the back of your f n r handle you have 3 wires are they still connected

@@Golfcartwhisperer 10 4 thank you. i figured i was following something that isnt an issue. currently the solenoid will click when the pedal is engaged but no response past that. jumping the solenoid doesnt help. before the cart was immobilized a passenger on the seat would cause no response then when they got off it would move so im sure i have a poor/lack of connection somewhere

What happens is 1 brush wears out. And when somebody gets off the cart it rocks the cart a little so it runs. An easy way to test that is next time it doesn’t run. Pick the seat up take your hand and turn the front clutch a little and then shut the seat and see if the cart runs. If it does then replace starter brushes. A simple job

My first start of the year after sitting 4 months during winter is with propane. Fresh fuel and a little choke with a small propane torch leaking into the intake with the air filter off. It fires right away even though the fuel bowl is empty. Once the engine is running for 7 seconds the vacuum draws the fuel into the carb, you're good to go.

@@Golfcartwhisperer about as dangerous as playing with a BBQ lighter. Works great on anything that is carbureted and has had the fuel drained for winter. Sure beats cranking until fuel gets there.

@@Golfcartwhisperer here in Canada fuel can go to gel in minus -34...so after a couple of months like that it's better to store any summer time engine without any fuel in it and oil down the cylinder via the spark plugs. Eliminates problems once the snow is gone in spring.

If you jump across the big post on sol. And the cart does nothing. You have a weak battery or starter is bad. Check voltage on your starter to make sure your getting voltage. On the ground and the hot

Hey man, I really appreciate this video! I’ve used it twice so far lol. After I replace the solenoid the first time which got the cart running, it ran for about 15 minutes and wouldn’t start up again. Diagnosed it and the new solenoid went bad. Which the solenoid was a cheap one that costed 11 dollars. Any idea on why it would go out so soon? The cart is very dirty and caked with mud could a bad ground be the issue? Thanks!

If it was an 11 part that’s one problem. Get oem. Also a bad ground will cause this. Regulator won’t cause this. It will just cook the battery if bad or will not charge the battery

@@smokysniper7514make sure the one from the part store is a continuous solenoid that can handle. 12 volts across all the time. One for a car just send voltage across the 2 big post to crank up.

I have a EZGO RXV 2008 gas. I have battery voltage. I tested the solenoid and have voltage. I tested the starter and I have voltage. The cart runs fine if I have recharged the 12v battery but it’s clear that it’s not being recharged. No parasitic charge issues after testing. I’ve been dealing with this and trying to fix it since February of 2023. Solenoid has been replaced. The relay has a random wire not connected to it. Voltage regulator replaced. Key switch replaced. Maybe configured wrong? Any ideas?

If the regulator has been replaced and you checked the starter and it’s doing it’s job. Then I would run a wire from the back side of the starter to the regulator and see what it does. How old is the battery? Put a volt meter on the battery and crank up and tell me what voltage is it putting out?

Great video the best i have found, I have 12v at the green limit switch when pedal is depressed., I also have continuity from the Light blue wire from switch to solenoid! But no 12 v when pedal is depressed. i also replaced ignition not sure if i wired it correct. my cart is a 2010 Ezgo st with the Kawasaki motor as well. HELP!!!!! please

Thanks for watching and commenting. And thanks for the words. Voltage leaves the foot pedal and goes to the keyswitch so check the keyswitch for voltage when you hit the gas. On both sides of the keyswitch. Black lead on main negative. Red lead on each side of keyswitch. Let me know what it shows

Well I’ll try telling ya. So I just picked it up from a guy who had issues with the mufler causing it to have low power. The mufler eventually ended up blowing up in his face. So he basically gave it to me, hasn’t tried starting it since. So I opened up the motor compartment and noticed a few wires with connectors on them disconnected. There currently is a black wire on the one side of the key switch which has a secondary wire (fairly short) with a crimp connector on it that is not connected to anything I then have a red wire that’s dangling near key switch which I presume it goes to the other post of the key switch? That red wire is roughly 6-8” long and has a crimp connector on each side. Both sides are plugged into nothing. There is what I believe to be the forward and reverse signal switches and those both have an open slot on the switch. So I plugged the short wire off the key switch (black) to the closest one which I believe is the forward switch Then I plugged the longer wire (red with two crimp ends) into the key switch and then into the reverse signal switch. The cart then beeps non stop. I tried to turn key on and hit the pedal to see if it would fire which it didn’t. Any help would be appreciated

Have you checked the fuse. Aldo voltage from the pedal switch then feeds the blue wire. Check fuse and pedal switch
